Don't think Gornell would want to join a League One club that might go down, when he's at a League Two club with a chance of promotion.

I'd swap him for Grimes instantly, he was great for Lincoln last season in a team which was relegated. I personally don't think Gornell is that good, he's our 3rd choice striker and I've seen nothing in him that would like to see us make a real effort to keep him, IMO. Strange that the scouts allegedly keep coming to watch him and the links with Leeds Utd have been doing the rounds for a while, somebody obviously sees something in him - of all our strikers he is the one who has the ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play the best and I thought yesterday that he and Collins looked promising together and would look even better if Collins got his head up, looked at the options and passed a little more often

Well if Sky were to be believed then Gornell's already on his way to Leeds isn't he? not too reliable then Sky? There is a huge difference between a team sending scouts to cast eye over a player (Leeds) and actually placing a bid (Rochdale). Would be surprised if SKY have called this 'coup' wrong.

People who dont rate Gornell know nothing about football. The boy is class, best touch of any striker in the league, can turn well and has decent pace for a lad over 6ft. Him and Collins are the future of our club and both must be kept and played together for many more years to come!
KEEP HIM GRAHAM!

Strong lad, holds the ball up well, works hard, and seemed to form a good partnership with Collins yesterday. Can also head the ball which is a big plus. If TG goes then i would think that Turner has a replacement lined up who is at least better than him. Personally i can't see it happening, surely at our standard we are not a "selling"club, the reverse i would think. Coleman must be desperate, or has offered stupid money. Bet he thought he had won the jackpot when he first ran out at the Meadow, after playing at Accy. Would he want to drop standards and run out at the Dale. Nice club, end of, area and facilities poor. Come on son, think on.

Don't want to cause any more upset this evening but quite a few rumblings from down south that Watford are interested in James Collins. Could it be that a certain Mr Hughes has made a 'recommendation' to his new boss....

I rate Terry as one of the best all round strikers in the league, not the most in terms of goals but i think his alround play is better than anyone. For me hes worth at least 300k and can do so much more than grims who is just a poacher. My whole family supports Rochdale so if we lost him i would be bantered for the rest of time

Terry Gornell and James Collins must stay if we are going to finish in the top 3. Both are quality and certainly have a bright future in the higher leagues, hopefully that will be with us.
All offers should be rejected as surely we will be able to sell in the summer for a similar price, if not more, should we go up or not.

Gornell is a quality player.
He rarely loses the ball and has an eye for goal.
Bearing in mind the way those at Greenhous Towers do business I imagine Mr Wycherley will be incandescent with rage that Rochdale have done their business in public in a bid to unsetlle the player.
I Imagine Roland will give them a pretty clear answer and would be very surprised if it does not end in"off"

I was at Rochdale on Saturday.
Despite Grimes' brace, the best player on the park was Nicky Adams. Sign him up Graham!

Would be surprised Rochdale could afford a transfer fee and wages for Gornell to be honest.
Only averaging just over 3,000 crowds so unless they have sold someone for big money or their chairman is throwing cash at the new manager in a bid to stop up, they will probably find him out of their price range.
For the right price, and at the right time I'd guess any of our players could be prised away from us. Just don't see it being likely in this case

£100K would be far too low to let Tery go, we need to keep TG and as GT has said it would take a ridiculously high offer for us to part with any of our important players

I agree Gornell's touch is a cut above the average L2 striker and that gives him the potential to succeed at a higher level. Good finisher with his head too. At our level, he does seem to get outmuscled a bit often.
I doubt Rochdale could afford a silly offer and I wouldn't sell him for less than that (ie a lot more than £100k). I think there's a decent chance of a much better fee in future and in the meantime he has a valuable role to play for us.
Now would I welcome a swap deal. The current squad has a good spirit about it and disrupting that is always risky.
Keep Gornell, keep Collins, maybe loan Bradshaw out with a recall. It'll all be reviewed in the summer but doesn't need to be disturbed now.

Agree with those who say don't sell unless offered silly money. Gornell's value is only going to increase.
Furthermore, he's still yet to have a real run in the team, but now has a good opportunity to get just that. Given such a run, I really think he could become a very regular scorer for us. The lad's football brain is a cut above what you normally see at this level.

With my pessimistic head on I think he might go. He hasn't exactly been a regular starter since his sending off against Hereford, he is very highly regarded by John Coleman and we might see it as good business if we, say, doubled what we paid for him.
I would be very disappointed if he went, all the things people have already said means he would be a great loss.
