For me, it's got to be Vale. Horrible area around the ground, put together with a very cheap looking stadium.
Yours?

My back garden - awful turf, no dugouts or pitch markings, and woeful acoustics. On the plus side, it's free to get in.

I really hated Brightons ground when we went in the FA cup all them years ago, miles from anything, open seated area, crap atmosphere... and massive slog back home...
Not reccomended!

The area around vales ground is a dump but u didn't mind the ground to much. There are far far worse grounds out there! I always hated Mansfield, it's such a boring place and boring ground. I'm glad we don't have to play them anymore.

Let it go ned - Burslem is not that bad I always found Yorkshire grounds had the nastiest atmosphere - Barnsley were particularly unfriendly, and I got punched at Halfax, but I am basing this on 1980/1990's more than now You can usually find a decent pub and some decent fans if you do a bit of research - I can't think of anywhere I don't mind going - it is usually the journey that puts me off (eg Gillingham)

Oldham was nasty. Carpark made of dust, nowhere to go before game, corner of ground burnt down. Was pretty good for making noise though. Forest Green springs to mind, on top a hill and there was a thunderstorm :/ ground not too bad for a club of their size though. Macclesfield is terrible for atmosphere.

Doncasters old ground was a $h1thole, but i do recall it being very cheap to get in as an away fan back in the 90s, £3.30 jnr £5.50

Agree Mansfield is a horrible place, and the fans are the usual neanderthals.

Cardiff ( c 1993) Burnley ( c 1982)
Both really intimidating atmospheres, Burnley especially. There are quite a few more I could add in the early 80's given time I'm sure

I'm glad we don't have to play them anymore. Harsh, I like Mansfield as an away game. Proper lower league footie, decent pub and a stand borrowed from a racecourse, brilliant. As for "worst", well Histon has to rank there. Ellesemere play in a better "stadium"

As for "worst", well Histon has to rank there. Ellesemere play in a better "stadium" That's very harsh in my opinion. Histon was a decent venue for the standard they played at and their hospitality could not have been better and more welcoming. Perhaps your views are tainted by the result ? How anyone could answer anything other than Edgar Street in this thread is beyond me. It is basic beyond belief in the ground- they sell you tickets for the main stand where you can not see the whole pitch for christ sake ! the terrace is rubbish and decaying around you and the opportunity for food and drinks around the stadium is akin to pitching up in Minsterley. An awful away day.

MK Dons ground for the lack of any atmosphere due to the rubbish stands . Plus told that my flag was a fire hazard ! And what were those statue cows ?? It did redeem itself at the play offs but only because of the result . I love to visit all types of grounds to experience the fact of ' being there ' . Long may the old terracing dumps continue , I love em !

The Deva is well up there on one of the worst stadiums ever. Talk about souless breeze block city!
I actually quite like Edgar Street, terracing, quirky stands, close to the pitch. Proper old skool. Reminds me quite a bit of Gay Meadow.

The Manor Ground was a s**t ground, and the away terrace was decrepit - accesed by a little path at the back.

Darlo - To big and empty. A stadium may be big and new but without a crowd or in darlos case no sign of one ever coming makes it like a morgue
Accie Stanley - nothing wrong with it, i felt at home in that era / style of stadiums

Controversial one but for me it's Wembley. This is based on expectation v actual experience
For the national stadium in the country that invented football it's in a poor location, the surrounding area is less than glamourous and even after having massive sums of money thrown at it the public transport to the ground is poor.
Inside the stadium lacks atmosphere based mainly on having the middle of the stadium empty for a third of games while the corporate clients munch on posh sandwiches, while the poor saps being charged £50 to watch England get charged a further £10 for a greasy burger and fries.
Much prefer a visit to Hereford, Walsall or Port Vale which has some basis in reality rather than the corporate cash guzzler that is Wembley

Histon was a decent venue for the standard they played at and their hospitality could not have been better and more welcoming. Perhaps your views are tainted by the result ? It definitely is. Pitching up in Bayston Hill and getting turned over in a stadium worse than Ludlow's has to rank as a poor away day. Nothing to do with friendly / value etc and all to do with how far we had fallen
