Although I'm not totally convinced by chris Neal I think panic loaning or dropping him for Smith is a bit prem for me, having watched the incident I don't think it was the catastophic error some have made out the ball was moving a bit. Chris Neal was terrific against Rotherham pulling off some worldy's to preserve the 3 points that day, easily MOM, so let's give the guy a break! I agree with this. I didn't go Saturday, but from watching the highlights a few times, no one closed the guy striking the ball down and it seemed to go through a crowd of bodies at some speed. I have seen worse, I think against Rotherham Chris Neal helped us get 3 points by pulling out some great saves. I still think he is worth carrying on with for the next 5 games at least, unless something major happens.

Its not just me pointing out that Chris Neal is a good goalkeeper and will definately do a job for Shrewsbury this season and I back him 100%.
At the end of the day I am a Shrewsbury Town fan and will back them all the way not throw negative comments towards individual players for odd errors. He is far better than that and has shown that plenty of times this season so far.
My focus now is going to Port Vale tomorrow night and backing the entire squad and get us back on top of the league and not argueing on here with so called supporters...
Enough now...

Listening to GTs comments on his pre Port Vale interview you get the dstinct impression that Chris will be starting tomorrow night
''He(Chris) was disappointed he didn't keep the 2nd goal out, he's done OK over recent matches so there's no need to panic, we all make mistakes and he's got to get over that and get on with it''

I can only go on the seeing the goals but I really only think he made an error the once and that were yesterday. I thought the free kick against Northampton was just a very good free kick which many a keeper would have struggled to keep out.. Anyhows, we beat Northampton so that didnt drop us any points. He could do nothing for the first Wycombe goal yesterday, peach of a free kick. Granted it was an error yesterday for the second and it was points dropped but the vast majority of keepers make a mistake every now and then...just one of those things. Lets look to the positives... If Neal had only made those mistakes then it would forgotten quickly but he does ' fumble ' a lot of easy shots some of which could of cost us dearly . Macclesfield in the final minute , Northampton had plenty of those in too , Fondre on a better day would have scored 3/4 of those fumbles . Other matches too as has already been outlined . He does not give us the feeling of confidence a lot of the time . Whilst he has improved and i am pleased to see that , I feel that he will cost us points as he improves , something at a lower level we could get away with , but not in the league that has a good number of teams that will test us . Yes the defence needs to get a bit more organised but we could do with a better keeper whilst Neal is improving . Having said that , when he is picked I will continue to support and encourage him .
