Pathetic who ever put that flag up, when clearly there is room for both. I personally would quite happily rip it down and tear it to shreads

I was watching them putting it up at about 2:30-2:40. I hought to myself, B and A will not be happy.
It seems a bit petty and so easily avoidable

Its the 'Gloucester Shrews' flag, he used to put up his flag in exactly the same area last season and obviously thinks he can carry on doing so, seems a little bit petty as all he has to do is just hang it a bit further down block 14.

Sensible group of people in block 14 should have a quiet word and let him/them know what a dick he looks

as someone who sits in block 14 I support Gloucester shrews stance, as do most people who sit in the same area, his flag has been there every home game since the ground opened, why should he start hanging his elsewhere?

Nice to have some randomness to it all. Although the flags are amazing it will start to look structured like Middlesbrough soon. The Gloucester flag was the first there as indicated, you can still read The Spirit so no problemo in my world.

why does the turner flag have to go between block 14 and 15? Plenty of room between block 1 and 2 where to my knowledge no flags have ever been hung?

there is also room between blocks 13 an 14 - gloucester shrews have been season ticket holders in that block since the move to the ground and have had their flag there for years - why not move the spirit flag between 13 and 14 and then everyones happy

There is room to move it however putting the glos shrews flag over the turner one does smack of a bit of a petty attitude............is the space reserved for them? Thought not.............................

Thought not............................. no but i think its pretty arrogant to just turn up one day and whack a sodding great flag over the space where someone else's has been for years - cant see why the turner flag brigade couldnt gage the situation before they put it up, saw that other people already use that space and move it somewhere else (i.e to the right) and then everyones a winner

I think matureness is called for to sort out this simple issue.
I propose a piggy back race between the Gloucester Shrews and Sam and the pope.
Starting from Rolys box... first to reach the turner flag wins.

This is getting a bit petty and we'd do well to remember we're all on the same side. I think this calls for talks with the club to get this rectified once and for all.

WTF it got to do with the club?? Its not hard to work out is it? If Glous Shrews flag was there first and it means that much to them simple move the Turner flag two foot to the right or left and problem sorted, why all the big fuss?? Still stand by my original comment tho, why put another flag over another even if yours has usually been there?

The whole business of the England flag with where you come from has just become boring and jingoistic. It is good to have individualism like the Spirit of '79 flag. If Gloucester Shrew wants to put a flag up-please be a bit more inventive with your choice.

Not a problem at all.
It makes sense to move the Turner flag if the owner of the other is unwilling to move thiers.
I will try to sort it out this week.
This has never been a competition, and it is not a big issue at all. The flag which goes up at 2.30pm obviously was not there while we hung the Turner flag up so we didn't know.
We can't just move the Turner one "a little bit" because it has to fit between the big block numbers.
Having said that, the Turner flag looks great from the Sovereign club during the week, so I think it makes sense to keep it in the West Stand. Not least because if it is Block 1 / 2 the TV cameras may focus in on it and pick up lots of empty seats which would give a false impression of how many people are actually there.
Let's go for the empty space between 13 & 14.
There, problem solved.

Presumbabley though if there ever is to be any further flags in that block they need to be desgined with the existing flag in mind...

i think its another shambolic demonstration of how utterly disorganised the club are. did they not realise glos shrews flag would need to go there when they designed the stadium.
pathetic and shockingly childish.

Can't believe so many people are getting so wound up about a couple of flags in a football ground.

Official: Dave Matthias the voice of reason. Balanced arguments, healthy debates, and now counsellor to everyone going schiz over a bit of cloth. Well done TBH - exalted that man. All future flag projects to be the size of handkerchiefs to alleviate any future potential for rifts?

I can't believe all the praise Throbs is getting. My idea incorporated sport, finance, religion and would have been a great advertisment for Salop. ;D Yet he gets all the praise........I despair of this board at times.... www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/mad/mad0029.gif ;D [/img]

To be fair I can't understand why anyone would complain about the Gloucestershrew flag being covered up...it's hardly a design masterpiece is it, pretty shabby really.

I cannot believe that someone has had the audacity to put a p**s poor 5x3ft England flag over Turner's banner.
Regardless of how long they've been hanging their flag for, it's the awkwardness and the bloodymindedness which is irritating.
Surely the owner of that s**te flag could move it just a couple of yards to the left in order to accomodate a larger and frankly much better banner?
