You should take the Turner flag down, wait for 'Gloucester Shrews' to put his flag up and then put it back up over it ;D Seriously, why can't you put the Turner flag somewhere else? and put these flag squables behind us.

as someone who sits in block 14 I support Gloucester shrews stance, as do most people who sit in the same area, his flag has been there every home game since the ground opened, why should he start hanging his elsewhere? It is pretty petty, however I cant see how anyone can defend the little England flag (probably got free when buying some trainers from JJB) being put over a decent sized, unique flag which a lot of people have spent time and money getting done. For the people who say "they have always put the flag up there", so what? It doesnt mean they are entitled to put whatever they want up, whenever they want. They do not own that part of the ground. I have a flag which I can never be bothered to be take but if I did and someone came up to me and said "I always put my flag there" and it was just some bog standard cheap flag, then id tell them where to go and to hang it elsewhere. The Turner flag can only be displayed in a few places because of its size but the England flag can be put in pretty much any other place in the ground. Just out of curiosity you have said "I support Gloucester shrews stance", does this mean that the said person(s) are just putting it over it out of sheer stubborness?

It's like B & A is some big multi-national conglomerate and "Gloucester Shrews" are the small independent company, who have been around for ages (well the past 3 years anyway).
B & A are trying to take over their patch and "Gloucester Shrews"are 'sticking it to the man'
Go "Gloucester Shrews".

Dr have you been to a game this season? Yeah, I was at Macclesfield. How many away games have you been to recently? We're probably level in the past 2 seasons and I've bothered only twice.

How many home games have you been to since May 2007? I had a season ticket for the first two years at the new stadium. Not that it's any concern of a sad act ginger like yourself.

This support for the Gloucester shrews flag is crazy! it has not been there since the ground opened it's removed after every game and wasn't there for the first 3 games of the season.............
Why are we even considering accommodating such a crap flag spitefully put up by such immature fans?

I cannot believe that someone has had the audacity to put a p**s poor 5x3ft England flag over Turner's banner. Regardless of how long they've been hanging their flag for, it's the awkwardness and the bloodymindedness which is irritating. Surely the owner of that s**te flag could move it just a couple of yards to the left in order to accomodate a larger and frankly much better banner? Agree whole heartedly with this post, good job Glos Shrews flag is so small and uninspiring their bloody mindedness is shocking!

GLOS SHREWS FLAG : Why is it uninspiring? Surely a boring SALOP flag at the World Cup is uninsipring compared to the fancy ones QPR have!? It shows people travel from all over, just like the Ipswich Shrews and London Shrews for example and are collective fans of Shrewsbury Town.
The whole point about the image of Turner is that he is doing a V for Victory sign AKA Winston Churchill can someone explain why it has been cropped off resulting in Turners obvious embarrassment as it looks like he is a smoker?
Sorry but just because a few people have chipped in a few quid does not mean that they have the mass right to squeeze out one individual who is an exile, has had a flag for years and puts it there as it is where he sits.
So reading what people have read, if someone makes an even more nicer fancier flag, that is more expensive, then they have the moral right of covering it over the other flags then?
Move the Turner flag there is plenty of space.

Stop being a wind up merchant Matt.
You have read what will happen.
You know there was no flag there when ours went up.
I know you and Whitters have been positively peeing yourself with delight over this but give it a rest eh?

The GloucesterShrews chaps are the unreasonable one's in my opinion.
Obviously, as has been established, their flag is only there on matchdays, so when the Turner flag went up it just looked like an open space.
But when I was watching them put their flag up, it was absolutely ridiculous, the back of the stand was practically empty so there was absolutely nothing stopping them from sticking it about 2 meters to the left. And all this "They were there first" cr@p, they have no divine right to that particular spot, whether they've been putting their flag their for 3 years or 30, I really don't care. All it requires is a bit of understanding on their part, but they're deciding to be a little childish in my opinion.
Looking at the pic in the opening post, to shift the B and A flag to avoid this pathetic situation it would need to go about 2 meters to the right, I'm not sure that would be possible and as such it may have to be moved altogether
The poster Moxey who has only mae 2 posts is IMO one of the "GloucesterShrew" flag men, as he has posted twice ever and both on this thread. If he is aware of the problem and unwilling to take one very very simple action to rectify it then that really is ridiculous

The uninspiring bit was the fact you can hardly see it because its on top of a much bigger flag.No one has a problem with exiles flags just even an argumentative devils advocate like you can see how petty glos shrews are.As Throb says as long as you and Whitters get a girlie laugh out of it .Good Show.

In this case all England flags are superfluous. Surely it is not beyond the wit and imagination of anyone to have a Shrewsbury flag, particularly with the Loggerheads on it, and then where they come from written underneath.

Glo Shrew brings his flag to each game and then takes it home with him, therefore there was no flag there when it was put up so to speak. It has been there for 3 years. The new flags in the stadium look amazing and give the place some much needed colour and individualism. Im not giving it a rest as I feel sorry for that poor chap with a lynch mob who feel they have a devine right to get his moved. There is room for everyone, compromise. Its not hard x

I cant believe Im going to get dragged into this but what the hell.
Matt, if the bloke had kept his flag up in the same place for 3 years and all of a sudden someone it down to put the Turner flag up then Id have sympathy.
But that isnt the case.
Im assuming the people who put the flag up went on a non matchday and saw a place that was without flags and thought it was an ideal place to put it. Seems reasonable to me. If however they ripped his down then Id agree that it was out of order, but again that isnt the case.
Just because he has taken a flag to each game does not give him any right to say he owns that part of the stadium and anyone else is well within their rights to put a flag up there. The fact he has chosen to then put his flag over another flag when he can quite easily put it up a few few feet away is childish in my opinion.
You moan about people on here who think they have a divine right to put their flag where they want yet in the same breath defend the right of someone to put up a flag where he wants over other flags. Hypocritical?

Its not hard x Lynch mob is a ridiculous statement. There is no such thing. Rather a group of people who are seeking to get a resolution and compromise to a silly situation that with just a little give and take from those involved ceases to be an issue. Stop trying to read something into a situation that isn't there just for your own amusment.
