Actually think that he has been very good on the radio when I've heard him, honest opinions, good knowledge and a sense of humour. Far, far better than that t**t Claridge

Speaks his mind, is comfortable and natural on television/radio, has loads of anecdotes and a great sense of humour. What's wrong with him exactly?

I think he must've scored against Cardiff ;D I quite like him. Late kick off last season on Monday nights he'd be on and he has a good knowledge of the game and has a good sense of humour. Give me him over some ITV crap anyday.

Met him once after a Leicester City training session, found him to be a very nice chap and quite willing to say hello, have a chat, pose for a photo etc...

Give me him over some ITV cr@p anyday. When Mainish asked him what he thought about Hibbert's overhead kick he said he wasn't watching. Now I don't ask much off that programme but if it is going to have someone talk about the matches at least have someone who has the manners to watch them. His comments on women would give Jim Davidson a run for his money too.

Rather have an outspoken former pro who's passionate and relatively eloquent than someone such as Shearer. Has played the game at both ends of the profession.

Not everyones cup of tea but Claridge is pretty glib and let's face it Leroy is a bit on the dull side. I guess Robbie's wit and strong opinions are pretty much what the producers of a phone in are looking for. Can't remember the last time I tuned into 606. If I want to be exposed to a bunch of lunatics airing their ill-informed views on the beautiful game then I'll log into B&A....

Can't stand the bloke as a player, but in my humble opinion, he is actually fairly decent on the radio.
Gabriel Marcotti(sp) co-presents some shows, and he is awful, Savage is 10x better.
I look forward to listening to 606 in the future.

I used to like danny kelly and danny baker, who are still about but not as much. Tom watt used to have a show somewhere as i remember and he was good too. Fighting talk always has a good supply of "characters" who know their stuff(most of the time). Everyone thought he was a tit at the time but i liked and miss seeing Jimmy Hill.

My problem with 606 if it be Alan Green, Malcotti or Spoony is their clear lack of knowledge of anything outside of the Premiership. It is sometimes embarrassing to listen when a lower league caller rings in and they try to stumble their way through the conservation!
A great example was a couple of weeks ago when a Dag+Red fan rang in to discuss their promotion, all Marcotti could come up with was asking if he was a Dagenham fan or a Redbridge fan!
Hopefully Savage will be an improvement. Have to say from what i have heard so far he is a much better pundit than he was a player!

In fairness bangorshrew I think it was a joke by marcotti
I don't mind marcotti, but spoony is just a total idiot and an embarassment. The worst example was during one of the programmes he and john barnes were having a conversation about how they were going to be going to a social event later and carried on for 2-3 minutes talking about it - it's a football debate show not your social arrangements!

I dont understand how someone can present 606 having not been following the results all day (if playing!!) Surely that puts him at a massive disadvantage..
I rate Macotti... could listen to him bang on about football all day...

Robbie Savage was a very decent player who had an excellent career and did what he did well.
He will be a great pundit: controversial, unpopular, outspoken, funny.

Spoony hardly has a clue even about premiership teams. he seems to spend half the shows having chats with his 'celebrity' mates who ring up for a chat. Back on topic though, savage as a player was an annoying irritating diving, dirty player. but off the pitch he's entertaining.

On Marcotti, I agree he is a very knowledgeable chap on football at the highest levels.
It is not that reason why I don't like him, I just can't stand listening to him on the Radio, his voice does my nut in!

606 used to be about the fans, not the presenter. If Savage says he'll deifinitely have an opinion it doesn't bode well IMO. I used ti listen to 606 alot but too many of the presenters like the sound of their own voice too much. And don't get me started on Alan Green.....

I think the blokes decent as a pundit tbh, however when he failed to watch Hibbo's overhead kick, it frustrated me so much!
I think there is alot better choices they could of made, but he's not the worst. He'll do ok, don't know what knowledge he will have about the days results, having been playing himself during it all. We'll see, may not last long, could excel.. either way he's making something for himself when he retires.

The standard of the presenters and so called pundits is appalling with the odd exception . Season by season they are getting worse . They constantly focus on the premiers**te ang ignore or finish callers very rudely who get through to talk about their teams in the lower leagues . I never listen anymore unless a particular commentator is reporting .
