I was never a Robbie Savage fan but after listening to him on R5 Italy v New Zealand yesterday he can fill the 606 slot every week for me. Brilliant radio and the highlight of the World Cup so far for me. Good result for the Kiwi's aswell

I hate the way on 606 now the caller barely gets 5 seconds into their point and the presenters butt in.
I do think Savage will be a breath of fresh air though. He has a grassroots bluntness and a certain naivety which will get him into trouble but make him far more interesting to listen to.

Danny Baker for me everytime, best football show on tyhe radio bar none when he's broadcasting - Fraser Digbys Washbag songs were hilarious nothing can go wrong now I sent in my own Fraiser Digby song but they never sang it unfortunately I also started writing bohemian rhapsody but with team names / nicknames instead of players names. This proved hard work! As for Savage, having listened to him on 606 with Warnock and in the commentary for the Italy vs New Zealand I thought he was really good. I'd much rather be listening to him than someone like Shearer for example. Best moment from yesterday's commentary for me was after New Zealand scored... Savage: "I know you're meant to remain impartial on BBC Radio 5 Live but GET IN THERE NEW ZEALAND!"
