Not that this is a precurser to ANYTHING
Thought it might be intresting to put the poll up to see what the take up would be for such a shirt.
For the purposes of this question, im asking this
If a plan was put togehter to produce an Unofficial version of next years home or away Joma shirts, with no sponcer on and the old Loggerheads badge on it, would you buy one?
Three Options
Yes - Whatever the desitnation of the profits Yes - But only if the money was put back into the club, to show the moneys they are missing out on No - Never, I would only by Official STFC Mercendice
Cheers
Intrested in the Results

Yes I definitely would. It looks smart without the sponsor and that crappy, tacky, pathetic, horribly disgusting, mind blowingly amateurish joke of a badge! I'm undecided if I want the money to be put back into the club though. If they were to lose out on money then they might sit up and take notice but then that means hindering the club and I doubt this will be a quick process, so it could be a couple of seasons of taking money off the club. On the other hand if we give the money to STFC then they wont care what we think because they are still making money. Hmmmmm...........

IMHO The profit should NOT go to the club. Assuming there is a profit it could go to a fan's organisation. What about a sponsorship deal like Barcelona?

By the way, weren't both kits worn in the semi final between cardiff and leicester produced by Joma?

Why should any profit go to Shrewstrust ? and why not ?? Perhaps fans could nominate a fans organisation at the time of purchase ? Profits then divvied up accordingly ?

I don't know where the idea of profit has come from personally, when I posted the thread on B&A with the idea I didn't once think of any sort of profit. (Although I have been told by others I should have went about it quietly. ) The plan is to sell the shirts for the price that is payed, which will be roughly £20. This is of course if we get the statement saying that the badge isn't copyrighted! I think the look on some of the people involved within the club when they see 'unofficial official replica shirts' with the Loggerheads badge embroidered on might be pretty priceless. The supporters who hate the clip-art logo will be happy and finally have their badge back on a 'Shrewsbury Town' shirt aswell.

Where would you get the statement??
How can you prove it, other than resuest a written letter from the council....

I don't think it'll be any problem getting the statement, I was looking on the official website earlier and read the news where they released the new logo, it practically says it all, that they couldn't copyright the Loggerheads because the badge was far from unique. I'll be looking at either contacting the club or Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council though. I can't see it being much of a problem, it might just take a little time?

Why should any profit go to Shrewstrust ? Why not? Why not any of the supporters groups for that matter? Personally I'd like to see any profit made from this go to charity, one the Club supports like Hope House for example.

If this idea removes income from the club via merchandise then we are only shooting ourselves in the foot.
I think we sell them at a profit and the profit goes to the club.
That way at least they cannot accuse us of damaging them financially.
Selling them and giving the profit to any supporter's group would be a disaster for the relationship between that group and the club.
Selling them and giving the money away to charity is a nice idea but as we all support STFC let's make STFC the charity.

If this idea removes income from the club via merchandise then we are only shooting ourselves in the foot. Depends why people are doing this. Is it just to get a shirt to wear that doesn't have the awful clip art badge on. Or is it to make a point to the club about the need to revert to the loggerheads. Is it to suggest that £40 may be a little overpriced for a £10 leisure shirt. Or is it all of them? If it's either of the last three options, then providing profit to the club is not going to help the cause.

I'd buy it if it were £20 or under, otherwise I'd go official. Would be nice to see the old badge back.

I would definitely buy it - but only if it was properly done and didn't look shoddy, like one of those bloody fake shirts you see on holiday.
If it was up to me (and I realise that it isn't at all), I'd give any profits to a local charity. It could get publicity and raise the profile of the whole loggerheads situation, and if successful enough, would make the club aware of what they're missing out on. I don't see why the club should profit from something which is supposed to be boycotting one of their more stupid decisions.

No promises.

I would never buy anything with clippy on, so the club would not lose revenue from me.
I'd like to see some quality 125 year anniverary merchandise (a polo or sweatshirt perhaps) with the loggerheads on.
If there is nothing available commercially I'll make something for myself.
