pure class yesterday, the big man won everything both on the floor and in the air, if Rodgers would of been sharper he could of had at least 10 clear runs on goal, oh duane darby is wonderful, oh duane darby is wonderful, he scored a goal in the play off final, oh duane darby is wonderful, ddas.bravehost.com/index.html

He played well, worked harder than he has for many games and won a few headers for a change, although let's reserve god-like status until he does it consistently please. Nice to see us get a bit of luck with Duane's goal, looked well offside when Luke crossed, no idea from where I stood whether it was handball or not. An excellent all round team performance in the 2nd half, not just down to DD. Defence was excellent as were midfield. Let's not forget DD was out scored by our right back

I was impressed with Duane yesterday. Having a big tough guy like that can really unnerve defences, especially when he is playing well, as he was yesterday. He was winning almost every high ball that he had a chance with and with a bit of luck some of those knock-ons could have created real chances. If he carries on playing like that, then I reckon he'll be making more than a few goals in the run-in.

He cant do it on his own its a team game. Lets just hope that did the confidence of the whole team good ready for tuesday night.

its like deja vu but with duane darby as opposed to john grant.... Yeah, except this time we are talking about Darby scoring and a town win, last time it was Granty not scoring and town losing. Either way, as supporters we are seeing an overall improvement in performance on the pitch, adn that has to be good. Christ knows where we would be now if JQ were still here.

Did really well I thought. First half he was doing ok then second half came alive and played his best stuff since about March time last year.
Let's remember it was a wonderful ball from Luke for Darby's goal (it was clear handball and he was also probably offside!).
From then on the two of them looked so more relaxed and they did well. Luke's first touch appeared so much better than at anytime since the first few weeks of the season.
I hope to see similar on Tuesday.

Surely you should have put a in the above statement.Lukes' wonderful ball was a mis hit shot that deflected off the first defender.I was right behind the goal at the time and you could see clearly from there that luke clearly went for goal but totaly mis**t his shot. The fact that Luke screamed "f@#k it" as he hit it just about confirmed it for me.Saying that I think its only a matter of time before the little fella is on the scoresheet again as his performance yesterday was encouraging,he just needs that little bit of luck.Glad to see DD get on the scoresheet.Heres to more of the same on tuesday AND a goal for Luke.

As I recall, he hit (a pretty dreadful) shot that hit the defender and rebounded to him. He then picked out Darby? But agree with your sentiments

I think you are probably right welshrew.I was too busy laughing at how DD scored Martin Johnson style at the time so my memory is probably a little Hazy . I was half expecting the referee to offer us a conversion ;D ;D And before you say it yes it is a pity DD wasn't in Cardiff last night,we would have probably reversed THAT scoreline

It's not his fault that Darby was offered a contract that made him our top wage earner (if he is) and you can't blame him for signing it. Using the wages he's on as a stick to beat him with isn't fair on him. Arguably Darby may have scored more if he'd been playing more often, i.e. if he'd been picked. Debatable I know If you've got problems with Darby as top wage earner then you should take that up with JQ and the board member(s) that agreed to it (and are presumably still around or poss in Wrexham nick ;D )

Top player and have been disappointed by the majority of comments about Darby on this site. If you are playing Darby you need to play to his strgnths and he will aways score goals. I will accept in some cases that he hasn't played to his full potential, hwoever I don't except the fact that he can't play with Luke, I think that was proved on Saturday. Hopefully he will get a decent run in the team. Top earner of not we need our best players out on the pitch. Well done Darbs.

Darby contributed much to our win on Saturday and has shown a real good attitude by fighting his way back into contention for a 1st team place rather than sulking about the place However, I dont think it will change things long term as I dont believe he is a "top player" consistently these days and GP will ultimately want to get rid of his high wage for somebody better. Langmead and Rodgers are better prospects to hang on to for next season. But in the meantime, may his great attitude inspire us to a few more wins before the end of the season

No matter how s*it that goal was it does not matter
One thing worth bearing in mind is this!!
Darbys best form came at the tail end of last year, when he got pretty much all his goals in the run in.
I for one would love him to repeat that again in the last 20 odd games this year!!!
If he was to do that he would leave this club with not many knockers as he would have effectively scored the goals (and one goals in stoke!) that got us up then came back after injury and scored the ones that kept us up! I would fooking love it if that happened!!!
Keep on Spiking them in DD –
Remember as the Boy Jones invented!!
No Duane No Gain

Good day for you Saturday Pricey. First thing you said, 'i scored another two goals this morning' , I swear you were waiting for me just to say that Then Darby palms one in, admittedly his best game in a long time, maybe he is back? Ps, did you pass the phone on?

I'll be the first to admit that I have never really been a great DD fan.
However, his face and the smile when he came off on Saturday and the reaction he got from GP were just great - I think he does want to play (he certainly was good on Saturday) and he does want a chance - I think it has done him good to have to fight for his place - onwards and upwards I sincerely hope for him.

Speaking as somebody who will never proclaim to be a DD fan and has failed to grasp just what some supporters find so enthralling about the man it gave me some pleasure on Saturday to eat a little slice of humble pie - I thought that the 1st half performance as with most of the team was pretty mediocre BUT credit is given where credit is due and DDs' 2nd half showing was top class, plenty of grit and determination, guts and dedication to the cause. In my opinion, and this is a 1st, I believe that he should have stayed on and not been substituted, Grant for Rodgers was my call. Fair play Duane Darby, you gave us what we have been longing to see for far too long, I'm still not convinced about him as a consistent performer but the base is there now for more of the same at Bury. Consider humble pie eaten, the hat will be the next item on the menu should he follow up with another gutsy performance.

What would you like on the hat sir ! Relish or just good old fashion Salt and Pepper !!! On a more serious note top post and despite what some say about me and my personal crusade to get DD in the team its only because I believe that He represents the best striking option for Shrewsbury Town so lets get behind him and all the other players and we will survive...!!! Dauane Darby Goals Goals and more Goals...!!!

A flash in the pan.
The Donkey made an absolute meal of a sitter that a park player would have buried and he had to handle it at that.
He then missed another sitter a few minutes later.
He's not good enough and the next few games will prove as much.
Langmead back in, ASAP.

Orient's star striker has got 12 in 29 this season and is entitled to an off day. I know who i'd rather have in the team.
