Can't say I have ever been a massive fan of DD BUT also not one of his detractors. For me he hasn't done enough wrong to get the stick he has been getting but also for a variety of reasons hasn't done enough to fully convince. He has been injured pretty much all season and as with all Town players IMO I believe he deserves to be judged on performances under GP as lets face it it is hard to accurately assess anyone from JQ's reign! Consequently he has started one game under GP and did well enough to be given the benefit of the doubt for a few games at least.

Darbs had a good game on Saturday he needs to keep this form up from now on that he's been given his chance.

To be fair, he should have been fit and strong on saturday. He hasn't played for bloody weeks.
Alright though he was he is definately not the long term solution.

I'll be the first to admit that I have never really been a great DD fan. However, his face and the smile when he came off on Saturday and the reaction he got from GP were just great - I think he does want to play (he certainly was good on Saturday) and he does want a chance - I think it has done him good to have to fight for his place - onwards and upwards I sincerely hope for him. Agree also, however DD is a high earner, if he has a blinder for the rest of the season we still won't be able to afford his current wage demand when his contract runs out at the end of this season, therefore we will see how much he loves S'bury & wants to play for us next season !

His contract doesn't run out until June 2006.
