I'm going to remain positive and look forward to next week Today was always going to be a tough game and unfortunately a few mistakes at the back cost us nice to see feeney get a run and he looked useful too , hopefully he might start next week and perhaps nurse in too so with a bit of luck those mistakes might not happen come on town 👍 I think we can afford to have Winchester at RB. A back 4 of Winchester Feeney Feeney Nurse is probably our best hope of not gifting 3 points to the opposition.

I know footballs changed a lot over the years...but that defensive performance today would not be excepted by the likes of Graham turner and harry gregg... they'd have em in for training every day, until the ****ers get it right...but to much namby-pambying around players these days I'm afraid

He was definitely at fault for the 3rd goal but I thought he was decent other than that. Came for plenty of crosses, made some half decent saves and I couldn't fault his distribution. I also thought Lloyd did very well to bully their big CB's and won a lot. If he had a bit of composure when he won the ball instead of going for a spectacular chip it could have been a very different game.

Meanwhile Pierre captaining Grenada to a 2 1 victory. Perhaps he'll come back rejuvenated.

Can tell they’ve just got more quality than us, unfortunately.
Very questionable decision starting Bloxham over O’Reilly though. And should maybe have kept Perry in there instead of bringing Ojo in. Also don’t see the point in the direct balls up to Lloyd who has no chance up against three big centre halves. Pointless.
Shame we were crap, atmosphere was class before the goals.

www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2024/september/07/post-wrexham---paul-hurst/Never have liked Hurst's over appreciation on the opposition. The fact Perry was left out for tactical reasons is complete madness. Perry was in a great bit of form, arguably MOTM in the previous 2 games and he gets left out for a player that hasn't even played a minute of football this season. I wasn't impressed with Ojo at all. Run about but didn't really make many tackles or interceptions and made some very poor decisions with the ball.

If Lloyd is gonna play, the ball needs to be kept on the ground for him,and fed into the channels,he works his socks off,and you can't fault that, but he also needs help up top

Micky Moore is stealing a living Please explain yes I know when signs the players but Last season he signed young players hoping it worked (sobowale going is ludicrous in my eyes) and everyone moaned Now Hurst clearly picked some players toto etc who he has had before and people are still moaning at moore

That’s Roland’s fault. We need action or we’ll be relegated before Christmas.

Not being funny...but the young lads on loan up front, may as well play every week...because the senior pros certainly didn't step up to the mark today...very poor

Sell up Roland, give us a chance. Jeez , the guy just put £200k in last week to prevent a points deduction, bit like he does every month , he wants out more than you want him out did roland , Micky Moore or paul hurst pick the side today and make the subs ? I thought Tom proved himself as a decent super sub later week , Perry had played himself into a winning side too , Benning, many of us would have given him a rest today but hey bite the hand than feeds instead Just because we lost away to top of the league Dear o dear , chill out , it's a game of football 😝

Can see why you suggest Winchester at right back as he's probably our best option at position at the moment, but I wonder if by playing him in central midfield where he can influence the match a bit more. I tend to think a decent side has its better players through the centre of the team - keeper, centre back, central midfield, striker, who can then dictate the match a bit, but at the moment we tend to have our better (or at least more senior players) such as Winchester and Shipley out wide, and so far Pierre and Toto in defence and Marquis haven't really impressed which I think is a big part of the reason we're struggling. The two Feeneys in the later part of today at least gave a hint of a potentially good centre back pair. Like everyone getting Nurse back playing would be great, and add some positivity to the team but really hope his comeback is a positive one. If he does start and then gets injured thats going to really hit moral all round

I agree that Perry should have started on recent form but Ojo was far from the only player who made poor decisions with the ball. To be honest, until we have something resembling a settled side and formation, no one seems to have a clue what they or anyone else is doing or likely to do. Not for the first time in the last few seasons, we have a manager who seems to think his players can adapt to changes in the way top players are expected to do. I am still backing Hurst, but I really hope he stops all the tinkering. Pick the best 11 available players as a starting 11 and stick with them. I hope we aren’t in a situation where parent clubs are managing the loanees over minutes played and whether or not they start games.

As summed up by someone already, men v boys.
I expected us to go down with some fight today and dare I say when we went 1-0 down, I thought for the next 15-20 mins we were the better side without actually having anything to show for it.
The mistakes were criminal. Which is ultimately what I think will be the death knell of this side. There are too many liabilities in this team starting right from the number 1 to most, if not every area of the pitch. I dare say we can compete against most sides but when the first goal goes in, heads drop and there's a distinct lack of leadership anywhere.
To paraphrase Jamie Carragher, I think the game has left Mal Benning. I think the Mal Benning we're seeing now is the one everyone warned us about when we signed him.
Shipley has gone completely off the boil. Ojo is exactly the player I expected we'd see; neat, tidy but not a forward pass in him. The decision to drop our best player from last Saturday for him looks even more of a head scratcher. Lloyd was given an absolute hospital pass today playing on his own against a four man defence for the entire 90 mins.
I don't want to sound disingenuous because they absolutely deserved to win but words can't describe how much I despise that football team and they're an absolute match made in heaven with Phil Jurassic Parky at the helm.
Do they have any striker that isn't a 6 ft 2 33-year old plodder? Absolutely no identity or anything organic about what they're trying to do as a club.
The absolute state of Janes McClean getting awarded MOTM absolutely confirms the people watching that week in week out can't know the first thing about football. Bloxham literally had the beating of him every time first half.
On a side note, while we were waiting for the police escort back to the station, I spotted a grinning Roland Wycherley seemingly taking enjoyment in watching us plebs being hoarded together and tbf his presence received a fairly unsavoury welcome from one or two Town fans.
A shame but their frustration sums up where we are at the moment. A shambles on and off the pitch.

. Something just isn’t adding up. Most of this squad will be on absolute peanuts. It’s just loan players and bargain basement old pros. Taking the loan players out. We have 16 pros. We know the wage structure is fairly equal £3k across the players. That's £48k a week...minus whatever we pay towards the 6 loanees.. minus every other overhead and wage etc. That's £2.5m a year minimum. Scary thought

Yes,but we’ve only recently got rid of the expensive players like Marosi, Dunkley, Flanagan, Udoh etc, and the effect of their wages still has to be seen in the 23-24 accounts which won’t be out for ages.

League One is becoming like the Premiership, with three leagues within one, based on clubs spending power. Sadly, we’re now in the lower tier while Wrexham, Brum, Charlton and other are the top spenders.

I well remember Bradshaw having to battle against big defenders . Not his game but still we persisted in playing balls in the air for him whilst defenders got a headache heading balls away comfortably. To my mind Ojo looks a panic decision . I’m sure Perry is totally p**sed off after his performance last week . Probably thinking why the F do I bother. Marvellous decision for his confidence . Hurst overthinking things to my mind . On to Charlton then . Let’s see how that pans out but to my mind If he doesn’t start playing his young loan players they will be on their way back to their parent club , they aren’t here to watch from the bench .

The three behind the striker should be Sagoe, Castledine and O’Reilly. It’s just crazy deviating from that. They’re all head and shoulders above any of our players.
