Brentford have turned down a £35 million pound offer from a Saudi Arabian club. I don't know why town could not get the best out of him but he has flourished since. When he was with us I really did rate him and thought his work rate was poor, but all credit to him, his composure taking a penalty for England in the Euros was something else.!

Funny how opinions differ but when we had him he was barely past 20, yet scored seven goals in about half a season at league one level in a struggling team. I remember him been a decent finisher, what else do we want or expect from a young loan striker than a goal return of about one in three games?
Imagine what we'd give now for a 15 goal a season loan player.

And guess what.... stat time Udons best season , goal every 180mins Ivan Toney goal every 274 mins in his 19 games for us That's 1 in every 2 full games then for Udoh that season. But the point I was making was that he was much more prolific playing alongside another striker. Take that away and ask him to play up front on his own he was far less impressive.

He was decent for us but he just gave up trying when he knew he was going back. Got booed off when he was subbed in his last game due to refusing to break into a light jog if I remember correctly. Always struggled after then when he played against us.

I think he was quite good in his time with us.
It's his performances against us a couple of times since that have clouded people's judgement of him a bit.

Agree that he wasn't terrible for us but his attitude, diving and moaning meant he wasn't going popular amongst our fanbase. Didn't Hurst get rid of him fairly quickly when he came in?

My favourite moment for Toney in regards to Shrewsbury Town.
On 23 February 2019, Toney was sent off in the first half-hour of a 2–1 home loss to former team Shrewsbury, for handling the ball on the goal line.
A bit mean I know, but always makes me smile!

The radio says he's likely to earn £100 million for 2 years in Saudi.
Meanwhile, Peterborough will be rubbing their hands at collecting the inevitable sell on fee that Barry Fry will have inserted when they sold him to Brentford.

My favorite moment was 16/17 after he’d left us and gone to Sc***horpe we played them in Feb, he came on as sub on 59 mins, something happened (I can’t remember if he gave the free kick?) we scored the winner on 69min with almost zero visibility due to a snow storm.

I'm not surprised I saw a programme on the Saudi teams, essentially the approach was, a few top tier players, then players who were coming to the end of there careers, the bulk of the team made up of good quality players but who had not hit the big time. The players all had the use of private jets and used them like taxies, Ronaldo wanted to take his children to a theme park, it was closed so Ronaldo could be there just with his family. At the end up f the day a footballer career is only serious injury away from coming to an end , so as long as he has good financial advisers he would be made for life Whatever he does I wish him all the best.

Whatever town got for Hernes and Leahy. 2-300k probably. Peterborough are a huge outlier in that regard though. To pick a club at random who have historically been at a similar level (but better recently), Wycombe have made about £1m in the same timeframe, and that was just 1 player. No other sales.

Presumably he’s given up on an England career and the possibility of winning anything meaningful.
The money will be a consolation thoug.
