There should be a few changes for the County game. Hopefully he plays 2 upfront. 4-3-1-2. Until we’ve got in 2 wide players who are any good this system might be the best atm. I agree. Perhaps the most telling difference between this team and 2017-18 is the fact that we have no one who poses a wide threat like Rodman and Whalley.

Surely those on the bench deserve the game time in the County game.

Yesterday was proof that a sunny day can mask a multitude of sins - a couple of the pubs in this desperately mediocre town became passable given the weather.
I obviously won’t post any serious thoughts on the football given it would pollute the hard-won Swan brand.
However, I was paying attention to our boys’ lids given my close proximity. There are a few I still need to cogitate on but I expect to share my early season player lid ratings as part of the build up to the next fixture.

Agree that is a telling difference but would also add the absence of players like the two 'governors' in midfield Ogogo and Godfrey - our midfield has been under constant siege for over a year.

Usual over-reactions based upon just one result. Typical of the abject nonsense posted on this forum. Respectfully disagree with this, we were utterly appalling, and there is no over reaction, this club is dying from the top down and the inside out, we cannot sit by idly and watch it happen… As I said....just one result.

and an improvement from last season where we lost 2-0 there ;-) Every cloud then …😉👍 According to some that’s it then , we’re down already . Never mind the remaining 45 matches , it’s us over and done for . Looking forward to our first home match so that I can take the opportunity to hurl abuse at the players from the off. No, not really but I’m sure there will be a fair few eager to moan if we don’t win by at least 4 goals . I predict a draw 1-1 , a point on the board and we are up and running .

I feel if we had Josh Feeney and George Nurse playing at CB we'd see a lot less hoof ball, but can we rely on them both to stay fit? Perhaps a tad harsh on Feeney but hamstring injuries aren't quick to recover from.
I was and still am worried about Hoole being our only actual right back, wasn't particularly impressed with him in pre season but was hoping he was just settling in.
Long tough season ahead I fear.

Hoole has played over a 100 league one and league two games and Bristol Rovers wanted to keep him, if he has had a poor start it’s likely that he will improve and do a good job. He is a good athlete and the coaching staff will soon improve him. He could be a bit like Benning, written off early doors and then turns out to be one of the players of the season. Give the lad a chance.

I think Hoole is the least of our problems. He looked solid enough in the two pre-season games I saw. I think he gets caught out occasionally with his positioning because he tries to support the attacks.
Nurse can’t play CB in a two, only in a three. I’d bring Morgan in, and maybe pair with Nsiala. Pierre looked an absolute disaster on Saturday.

I was talking yesterday to the brother of a Woking player. He said that pre season the Woking lads were looking at a list of League 1 clubs and had concluded that they would finish bottom.
Then they beat Blackpool on Saturday and are thinking about play offs.
Things can turn around quickly.
