Okay goal happy that players are in the box for when it gets knocked around, Goole looks good and settled now, against a decent derby team we look decent and that there is a plan Million miles from last season with players attacking and spaces being made

Some tired legs out there with 60 minutes gone. Bloxham looks nakered Of course he scores as I post 🤣 He's done the old "rope a dope" on them?
Would imagine Derby won't regret not having to play us in the league this season.....

More positive signs in terms of looking to keep the ball on the floor. Rossiter looking tidy doing the simple things well. One of those players who’d normally be well out of our reach - if it wasn’t for his awful injuries he’s had. He was very highly rated a few years back Yeah he went to Rangers as a rated kid, but boy has he had a lot of injuries since then. Only just over 100 appearences in 8 years. Bristol Rovers did offer him a new deal though this summer so one would hope he's fit and ready to go. Also has done some coaching, presumably in the time he has been out injured.

Another impressive performance.
What's so impressive is how in sync the players are. It's like they have all played together for years.
Not many clear chances for either side but we was up against a quality defence and their No. 4 was the best player on the park.
I'd bet good money this team would comfortably beat last seasons 9 times out of 10.

Well played Town. Whilst it is only a friendly but the football looks much better than we have had to endure last 3 seasons.

Really good game, and a very good performance from Town. Front foot, progressive football. I honestly enjoyed today more than I enjoyed a lot of league games last season.
Savin 6 Hoole 6.5 Pierre 6.5 Nsiala 7 Benning 6.5 Winchester 6.5 Biggins 6 Rossiter 6.5 sign him up Bloxham 6.5 O’Reilly 7.5 looked a class above Marquis 7 liked the look of him
Young 6.5 Perry 5.5 looked a yard off it Lloyd 6.5 unlucky not to score at the end Shipley 6
Lively cameos from the two youngsters at the end as well.

Good performance all round , well almost all round one player looked like a headless chicken , the trialist is just what we need , hope we sign him , orielly again is our version of Messi , hoped to more of Loughran but on he came for last few minutes and almost set up a goal with his first touches , I think we need a lanky cb on loan

Could young Loughran step up to the first team this season?

Excellent performance- We look so much fitter than last season and have so many more ideas going forward . A lot of reasons to be optimistic about a season around mid table at least provided we stay reasonably injury free

Humbling for me, was extremely concerned at the pace of recruitment a few weeks ago but sounds as if Hurst and Moore are working some magic.
Few more quality loans to come in and I reckon this has the minerals of a team to really get behind and enjoy.

Rossiter with Winchester as defensive midfielders look a great pairing. we weren't the same after they went off.

Pierre was doing sprints up and down the touchline for the remainder of the game after he came off. So you’d imagine that Hurst doesn’t think he’s quite there yet fitness wise.

He was blowing out of his arse against Leicester Bloxham looked even more knackered - no excuse for a lad of his age. Overall very encouraged by the performance today. O'Reilly is really very impressive indeed and that spark of creativity needed. Marquis looks a good acquisition too and the trialist looked a good partner to Winchester in the midfield which will allow us to play with two proper CDMs. Just hope we don't play it around at the back like that from goal kicks when the season gets going - hospital passes to Biggins when he has a player on his back is a recipe for disaster.

Some very pleasing slick passing and link-up play, especially in the first half. If O'Reilly can stand up to the physical demands of League 1 we could have a star on our hands - he turned his markers so easily and was so incisive with his passing. Hoole looked a good athlete and got forward effectively and the triallist in midfield linked play well. Marquis showed some of his experience in leading the line and Biggins made some good late runs into the box without always being picked out - something we can work on. Bloxham put in his usual 100% effort and also seemed to have improved his positional play and passing - this could be the year he fulfils his potential. There has been a lot of gloom and doom amongst Salop fans this summer but, if we can build on this, we may be in for a better season than many have envisaged.

Did Mr Savin have anything to do? If so how did he look? Did not really have a proper save to make but looked solid and seemed proficient with the ball at his feet. Excellent delivery from the corner for Deby's goal and probably the centre-backs more at fault than Savin.

last time I remember us playing derby in a friendly was back when we were in the conference, and we put on a 5-0 win, im sure Colin cramp managed a hat trick, it was all down hill for then. lol You are correct in this. Finally found a full list (put together by myself so might only have 99% of the games played) and indeed this is the last time we have played them in a friendly
