scrappy half, Spain slightly having more pressure, England better chances but nothing of note for either side, England have to get it to shaw a lot earlier, Stones could have done once but decided to go on a run himself for some reason and then almost got caught short when he lost it, my only worry is Spain nearly always seem to have a guy or 2 lurking totally free just outside the box waiting for the ball to be put in their path, Saka not in the game, Kane not getting the ball, Foden getting bullied, Bellingham doing well though, Palmer , Watkins, certain to be used , maybe even Gordon today and there it is , the free man lurking on the edge, Williams and walker nowhere to be seen

Best team won, Spain are dominant in European club football and their coaches are everywhere so no big surprise.
I think our cause for optimism is that so many of our key players are young and will be playing in tournaments for the rest of the decade. I think we’ll get better, unfortunately so will Spain.

Kane like Ronaldo... There legs have gone.......but nobodys brave enough to tell em🤷🤷 if he's like Ronaldo we've got at least 9 more years of harry then speed means nothing both goals tonight were because our supposed quickest player Kyle Walker had no idea how to defend the wide men, I called it about 3 minutes in

Was hoping for one last against-the-odds push to a trophy from England, but they lacked conviction on the ball and couldn't cope with Spain's very talented wingers. A case of so near, and yet so far.
Sent out of all tournaments under Southgate's watch only by the odd goal or on penalties, but it's now time to freshen up with a new manager and to move on from Kane leading the line. All things come to end.
Congratulations to Spain on their record–breaking fourth European Championship title.

After the semifinal I actually began to believe that we might have a chance of winning this tournament, but then Southgate goes with his tried and tested method of failing against the better teams. We were second best for most of the competition to be honest and if not for one moment of brilliance from Bellingham against Slovakia we would have been home long ago, but we've rode our luck and due to a relatively easy route to the final we have flattered to deceive.
Walker has been great throughout, but was a yard short last night.
Guéhi and his replacement against Switzerland Konza look like England have the makings of a decent centre half partnership going forward.
Left back was an issue throughout, but considering that Shaw hadn't started a game this year I thought he was outstanding. Yamal never even looked like beating him until late on in the game. Get him back to 100% fitness and we might have the position sewn up for the next couple of years. Trippier is not the answer.
Apart from his wonder goal Bellingham has for the most part only been ok. A couple of assists, but nothing spectacular.
Foden has been brilliant in spurts, but when he has been trying to press he has had negligible support from Kane. He was running around like a headless chicken trying to press on his own, it needs a concerted effort by by the whole front line and midfield, but no one else seemed interested.
Kane. He wasn't fully fit when the competition began. For crying out loud he had two touches in the whole first half against Serbia. It's almost as if Southgate was playing him to help get him match fit. He never busted a gut to get the ball, as soon as was replaced by Watkins the whole game changed. Yes I understand that he can and does score goals, but he just doesn't work hard enough for the team and if the chances aren't handed to him on a plate he can't or won't work to make them for himself. Time to retire from international football IMO. We have the players to move forward without him and let's be honest he's a bit of a Jonah. Zero major trophies in what has been a stellar career.
I think we have the bones of a team that can win a World Cup or the Euros in the coming years, but changes need to happen. Starting with Southgate.

Would agree with a lot of your analysis but I think Southgate has earned the right to take England to the next World Cup if he wants to carry on. I think we were beaten by an outstanding side last night and cannot remember a team in a major tournament winning all their game before. We just could not wrest away control from their midfield for long enough but. even so, still kept in the game until very late on. Some of our young players will have learned a lot and its time for some of the senior players who have served England well to pass the baton on.

We’ll never know how good this team could have been if allowed to have a positive mentality from the start. Southgate won’t change, and we have flattered to deceive under his tactics.
