There should now be a selection problem up front for Southgate. Very doubtful tho. Same again Sunday but hopefully more time given to Palmer and Watkins if subs needed which they surely will be.

Not bad that a manager accused of no plan b comes from behind in all 3 knockout games to win them ๐ Also a manager who absorbs the pressure and takes the blame when things don't work out, but gives the players all the acclaim when things go right.

Always been a Southgate doubter but the record speaks for itself and at times they played some lovely uptempo stuff. Seems to have found the formula now to maximise Foden, and give Bellingham freedom to roam. Looking forward to Sunday, we shouldn't fear them. This is the problem I have. Many people, me included could see Foden was wasted on the left and were crying out for him to be used more centrally. Hey presto Southgate finally adapts that suggestion and as if by magic, it worked like a dream. Also good to see us wasting less time passing back to Pickford. By playing a high line, Pickford advances off his line a lot but if he had been on his line, I believe he may well have saved their goal. Fine margins, I know.

Foden for 45 minutes was absolutely brilliant, and miles better than he has been so far.

Agreed, I'm one of his biggest critics and not a massive fan, but yesterday was his best performance of the tournament by far, and I've seen near unanimous agreement on that

I feel this tourney has been a missed opportunity by STFC. Could get a big screen and some barriers and make a fortune on catering. Couldn't even charge a token fee.

Clubs X/Twitter feed just said that the Sovereign Suite will be showing the final on Sunday and open from 6pm but with free entry, although need to book a space. Assume the bar is open although doesn't say it specifically www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2024/july/11/watch-england-at-the-croud-meadow/With England's and Town's track record in finals over the last 40 years it sounds like the ideal place to watch the final with great optimism

Buttermarket is doing the same I believe. Bit of an aside but now I'm older those large venues that screen the matches that you see on tv news shows, with everyone throwing beer around and knocking over tables seems a horrible way to watch the match. I'm much happier in a sparsely populated pub with a few old guys sat round moaning and eating pork scratchings.

I've watched every England game on my living room sofa, and sofa (!!) we are unbeaten. The wife wants to go and watch the final at a pub but even though I'm not superstitious I want to keep to the same routine to give us the best chance of winning. If we go to the pub and lose I'd take it as me bringing them bad luck changing routine.
Last time I think I watched us at a pub was the 2018 semi against Croatia and we lost.

We've watched some games at home and some down the fan park, all very much depending on the weather. Hope the rain holds off on Sunday and we can watch it in town. To be expected of course but the setup here is first class; decent security, plenty of stewards, plenty of places to get food and drink etc. (helps that we've not been in there when its been Germany or Turkey, mind). Each and every time the interaction between rival fans has been great too. Its a really enjoyable atmosphere down there. I do think its good when you have places setup where people can come together to watch the games.
Pretty sure I have read about some clubs in England setting things up so that fans can watch in the stadiums. However, might be those with a fair bit more support than Town and so makes is viable.

what they need to do now is announce they are not showing it and its cancelled and then after the hastily arranged campaign to get it reinstated from furious fans who had no interest in going there in the first place, the publicity it will have attracted will result in 3 times as many actually being there when the club show it after all ;-)

England expects! Be a shame to get this far and then fail, plus there might be an extra Bank Holiday if we win. Can only give it our very best shot and hope for the best. A week that might complete an unlikely triple sporting triumph: Lewis Hamilton, British Grand Prix, The cricket team trouncing the West Indies and....... www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/ckvgljxvqdxo
