I see this is up on the club website. Still pondering, either Marosi for being generally excellent, or Feeney for having done so well playing for so long out of position.

I think we should use this thread to nominate our contenders and we can have our own poll after the final game, for me Marosi has kept us in it so many times and cant remember many occasions we actually needed to moan at him (well apart from every single time he kicked the ball ) , not even going to look elsewhere

I will make a subtle differentiation while still answering the question...
Best player of the season = Marosi
Favourite player of the season = Benning

I have narrowed it down to Marko Marosi and Taylor Perry. Before making my final decision I will need to take some time this evening to deliberate further.

I'm glad someone else has recognised the role of Feeney, For me though its clearly Marosi, Mentions to Benning, Winchester, Udoh and Dunkley at times - the rest hmmm Bloxham and Shipley maybe.

I voted for Marosi, would have voted Dunkley but since maybe Feb or so he's been fairly average which is a shame. Hell of a defender though

Benning or Marosi really has to be for more. Only 2 with any semblance of consistency

so far , marosi leading the way, no one really second place, feeney default 3rd place, benning reserve in case feeney is sick on the day and no other mentions , not sure we even need a vote at this stage

Marosi for me made some wonderful saves to either keep us in the fight or saved us from further GD gap.
A lesser shot stopper and not sure where we would be in the position we currently find ourselves.

I'd go with Marosi. Whilst I wouldn't say he has been outstanding he has made some important saves and at the very least has been pretty consistent throughout the season. Which is more than can be said for a good few others.

Agree it’s hardly worth awarding but it’s tradition.

I'm by no means screaming this is a Hurst impact, but we used to expect the ball straight out of play every time, now its maybe once a game.

There was definitely a problem with Marosi around October, remember some bizarre behaviour especially in the Oxford game but also games either side.

Marosi is an outstanding League 1 keeper and we can sometimes take his brilliance for granted. With our him I think We might already be relegated. So my vote goes to Marosi but other contenders would be Dunkley, Feeny and Benning. The latter two are Moore signings so credit where it's due.

I alaays find myself counting the amount of times it's gone straight out and i don't normally get past 2 a match nowadays. Under MT it was 5 or 6 times a match! PHs setup allows Marosi to just roll it to a defender, that seems to be the usual plan these days.

Expect it to be Marosi. Honourable mentions: Benning, from Port Vale fail to Shrewsbury stalwart. Bloxham, returned revitalised from loans. Feeney, solid, Carlisle missed him it seems. Winchester, good consistent player.
Udoh, does his best. Burgoyne, for stepping in ok when needed.
Shipley, those glorious goals... More to come from some of the others who Hurst thinks have a future here and have shown enthusiasm with little reward so far, but with a PH pre-season....

Sooo if we all voted Marosi...how did Winchester get it! 🤣
Winnie has been consistant. But it would be interesting to see his goals and assists stats as I recon they would be close to zero.
Thought the likes of Dunkley, Marosi or Udoh contributed more this season. Maybe I'm missing something?? I bet Carl is well chuffed, always nice to be a fan favourite.

You could vote as many times as you liked so easy to hijack the vote …… Should have limited the vote to 1 per supporters number to make it a fair vote by Shrewsbury Supporters.

Vote by supporters number simple. I actually told the club on the previous Kit Vote but they no notice. No wonder we got Kit C 😂

I voted Udoh.
Definitely something strange going on there, no way has Winchester been our player of the season.
