Its an issue very close to my own warm heart How much is your favourite tipple? One of your own, Carol Decker of T'pau got charged £51.30 for four drinks and bowl of nuts. My local is £3.95 for a 4% abv lager. And I gladly pay £2.60 in the supermarket for a 5.4% 500 ml bottle of premium German weiss bier. TerPoooowww!

TerPoooowww! was the typo in the title meant or a freudian slip ;-) I went to vegas 12 months ago, loved the Hard Rock Cafe , tried a few cocktails there, the prices were not too bad there really, around the £15 mark, not bad as your average beer is like $10 or more down the strip

89 cents for a can of Dinkelacker Pilsner at the local supermarket. I do like to keep things local and I can smell the Dinkelacker Brauerei from my balcony. Slightly more expensive at the Kickers but 8 Euro for a litre of beer isn't too bad and certainly makes the matchday experience all the more enjoyable. Crazy prices in bars and restaurants, mind. Everything here seems to be getting more and more expensive.

Around £4.50 at my local, The Bhurtpore in Aston. Recently been taken over but the beers are still retaining their quality, so happy to pay this for some of the best selection and best kept ales for miles around. And you can’t beat anything from Salopian or Rowton Breweries

I think its around £3.90 for an ale in the pubs in Belle Vue although I did pay under £3 at the Grove for the recent game v Exeter, I think they do cheaper pricing mid-week.
I'll occasionally pop into Rad post match and that is expensive but it's craft beer so isn't a surprise, it's always busy though so clearly a market for it.

£4.30 a pint here, though no decent pubs in Ellesmere, so I usually visit the White Lion at Whittington.

Usually around £4.50 in Shrewsbury. £7.50 recently in London. Tried the All Nations, I think it was, in London once. Supposed to be loads of beers from all over the country, a lot dearer than their local area and just didn't taste the same due to the way they were stored I suppose.

Been out for a meal recently with a friend, she's on the wagon, so I joined her. Makes a hell of a difference to the bill for a meal with just a soft drink.

My dad can't go to the pub any more but I was with him yesterday and we bumped into one of his old Thursday night drinking pals. I asked how much a pint in the Corner House is these days:
"A pint of mild's £2.20. He put the price up 80p after Covid, it used to be £1.40. Covid's got a lot to answer for."

The cost of soft drinks has risen even more than alcoholic ones in recent times. My brother in law and his wife dont drink and they cant beleive that in many places a large coke or lemonade is not far off the price of a beer. Even soda water and lime isnt far behind.

I’ve given up worrying about the cost of a pint. I order what I fancy & enjoy it. No one gets out alive!

Crikey I didn’t realise you could still buy Mild in a pub, certainly not at 1980’s prices 😁 used to love a couple of pints of M&B Mild back in the day- even if I did often get called a Wuss for drinking it 👍

Would have been Greenall Whitley, quite sweet stuff as I recall. This is in a Samuel Smiths pub in Frodsham, Cheshire, which isn't a down at heel town by any means - Djibril Cisse, self styled "Lord of Frodsham", used to live there, Daniel Craig grew up there, Gary Barlow went to school there. My uncle used to joke that, when he worked in a Frodsham pub, they were told to pour the dregs into the mild. At least I hope he was joking ....

The pub's actually called the Golden Lion, but locals call it the Corner House as it's on the corner of Main St and Church St. If it's still the same landlord as when my dad was a regular, he can be a bit salty.

Not too far from what was my favourite pub. The Hollybush at Bartington. I was running The Blue Cap at Sandiway and used to go on my night off, It was still a working farm with the Farmhouse Kitchen being the pub, the bar was at the back of a pantry with a couple of hand pulls. More recently they used to have a traction engine weekend (20 years ago) Just checked and see it’s closed temporarily,

I've passed it many times and often thought it looked like a really nice pub. Have to say it's been "closed temporarily" for some time .....

The Cross Keys at Kinnersley is worth a visit as well The Ye Olde Boote has just reopened after a makeover. The Cross Keys at Kinnerley was closed for years because of a kitchen fire, finally reopened and its a bit too posh for me 🤣

The Leigh Arms is still going though I haven't been there for a long time. Did you know the Oaklands, between Cuddington and Weaverham? That was a lovely spot but went downhill. Might be better now. The Alvanley Arms and the Fox & Barrel were good eating places and seem to be thriving now.
