If he saves them from dropping out of the league his reputation will get a major boost, might even be worth any extra expense they incur to do so. Good luck to him.

think it shows no one higher up the league was willing to take a punt and that says alot. He was unemployed for over two years until our visionary Chairman saw something in him that others didn’t and rescued him from the dole. So its no great surprise he hasn’t been offered work since leaving us too

Was targeting my wife completing "The 92" at Bradford City v Forest Green. Might have to reconsider plans now as would like an outside chance of some entertainment

Best man for the job. Theres no doubt he is a good tactical manager. A nice little retirement job close to home.

Can't knock him, close to home and he'll have multiple plans and make they harder to beat.

Thought that they were a lot further adrift than they were, but they're only six off with a comparable goal difference - would imagine he'll keep them up.

Talking to my Burnley supporting friend about SC’s time there he said they were in a terrible mess when he arrived and gave him a lot of credit for sorting it out.
Eventually the football got too boring and lost the fans. Seems like his talent is in trouble shooting, not entertainment.
No talk of bullying etc though.

if anyone can get them out of the mess that FGR are in it will be SC, I hope the chairman there will be a little easier to get on with but I doubt it

He said it was his decision to leave Shrewsbury. Interesting he said that presuming we've been paying his wages for the last 6 months.

I would like to wish Steve all the best in his new position.
But as its FGR id be more than happy to see them fall out of the league an dissappear back down where they came from and belong

I'm sure RW would have given him the option to work as Head Coach under MM without a doubt. Im equally sure that SC would have only taken 30 seconds to tell him to Fk off as well.

Some Managers like all the control. I think Cotterill was that sort of guy.
Good Luck Steve and take a few points of Wrexham near the end of the season.

Remember that Cotterill apparently only found out about the director of football the same way that we all did, by seeing it in the paper. Relationships between Wycherley and Cotterill had broken down to the extent that both parties wanted it to be over.

Steve gave a lovely polite interview to the Forest Green press on his first day. Answered all their questions and came across really well. Early days. No doubt a wry smile from Stuart Dunn if he watched it.

Perhaps it shows the pressure he felt here for whatever reason..
Also, this wasn’t an interview straight after a defeat!
I wish him well there. Whatever happened here - we can be sure we will never know.

Steve gave a lovely polite interview to the Forest Green press on his first day. Answered all their questions and came across really well. That's the case for 99% of managers first interviews and he'd have done the same here. We got off to a good start so his opening interviews would have been very positive, of course when he was under pressure & felt the world was against him then it was very different (again, no different to a lot of managers)

As an interviewer he may have been someone you’d dread interviewing, but as a fan he was golden. You’d learn more from 5 minutes of Cotterill answering questions than if someone like Matt Taylor was there for an hour. Paul Hurst is more of a happy medium somewhere between the two of them.
