What is required from Mr Hurst and his team is men of quality and steel.

Whatever system he plays the wing backs or full back choices are very limited. Pierre is a big loss. I hope Flanagan can get up to fitness quickly but last year he played with an ankle issue and performance levels dropped as a result. Responsibility then rests on one man, our captain, to have a blinder every game. Upfront and Hurst latest interview sums up how players are not committed, not anticipating, making runs etc. But that's the mentality needed from the players for the last ten games whatever system is played and whoever is selected.

Win 2 of the next 3 games and take the pressure off a bit. Go for it, shoot on sight.

Don't know the money situation, don't know the dressing room atmosphere, but myself I would have bought out AO'B's contract. He's now back with us, no good, but picking up a hefty wage right in front of the rest of the team.
Time for the youngsters to make an impression, Bloxham should be an example to them.

Re O'brien, I was thinking this, previously we've paid players off in hid situation, perhaps we cannot afford to di it in one lump?

After the Lincoln and yesterdays performance....it tells me that, most of that team that played in those 2 games, will be shipped out in the summer, and are playing like they're gonna be......I won't pass comment until after the vale game......but if they put in another s**t performance....I will be 100% convinced!!!

Sutton seemed to want him, perhaps I'd have got him down there again whatever the terms of their part of his wages. That might have left some scope for bringing in an out of contract player if we could find the right sort. He's just making up the numbers, there must be any number of out of contracts that could do a better job.

...and a win for Charlton at Cheltenham on Tuesday might help too. I'm officially out of the "we shouldn't have to worry about other peoples results" stage now considering how things are going and with just ten games to go. I plan to tune in for that game. Anyhow, looking ahead, listening to Hurst he seems to think there is still some room for improvement. Whether that's positioning, movement, whatever. I guess its just about whether there is enough time and games to put things right. But personally that gives me a bit of encouragement that we can be better than what we have seen over the last two games. Fingers crossed.

Said it before.....we are probably better playing away from home,as results have proved.hitting teams on the break, rather than taking the game to the opponents at home, will suite our team better.we will see at vale next week.....lose that one,and we're in serious s**t

I asked MM about him at the on 17th Jan, it was a kind of glum reply saying he's back on 21st jan here's a bit of fun, totally guesswork but shocking all the same I'm guessing he's on 4K a week and also we pay £1k a week when he is on loan he's been with us 47 weeks hes been on loan 41 weeks thats £229k hes cost us as for league game time, he's played a total of 140 minutes ( about 1.5 games ) we are paying him the equivalent of £150K a game great signing that

Agree with many on here that the next 3 fixtures will have a huge say in what division we will be next season.

And that’s the point. He’s cost us mega bucks in our terms for basically doing nothing. It’s been a ludicrous situation from start to finish. We haven’t even had the luxury on here of criticising him for playing rubbish!
There has to be a reason why he isn’t playing and whatever it is he should have been got rid of whatever the cost. He’s no example to younger players, presumably not much cop with the older ones so why are we bothering.
It seems to me there’s always money to pay off managers and anyone else we want to be rid of so why not now?
I think he must go down as the biggest waste of time and money in the history of the club.
Even if he played every minute from now on we wouldn’t recoup our losses.

Considering we’re struggling for goals I think bringing both Bloxham & AOB is the right decision. Football has a funny way of making us all look stupid so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if AOB makes us all eat our words before the end of the season.

Out on loan, he was out of sight, out of mind. Now he's back there earning more than most and giving less than most. Say you had a postal worker colleague earning more than you who you knew to not be as good at the job as you. If he was seconded to Wem, you wouldn't think any more of it, if he was working alongside you it would annoy you every day. Better to remove any potential for disquiet altogether.

Re O'Brien - maybe the player himself knows than no club will be stupid enough to pay what we have paid him so his next contract wherever that is so will be hugely reduced wages to what he is currently on.
He has to agree to have his contract paid up. Maybe he is just happy to keep taking the monthly wage till it runs put.
I'm guessing Town have offered a decent pay off to get him off the books, but if he dont want to take it we cant make him.

There’s still a lot of teams down and around us, but for me it boils down to that if we finish above both Port Vale and Cheltenham we’ll stay up, and if we don’t we’ll go down.
Next weekends game is absolutely humongous, a win and we’re all optimistic, a draw and nothing changes, and a defeat and we’re in deep s**t.
Can’t even look beyond next week yet into the other remaining games, but I’d suggest we need another 12 points from somewhere.

I’m afraid I can. It just shows that we seem to have been naive and stupid for some time which is really depressing.
Apart from the Frenchman who was here for a few months and didn’t play, I can’t think of a permanent signing that has been so useless. Even if he were to be taken off the bench to score the goal that kept us up, I wouldn’t think any more of him and the money we have wasted woukd still irk me.
I don’t think I have felt so low about everything Shrewsbury for a very long time.

After yesterday's non-show I think AOB should start the next game or two. At least we as fans will see just how good or bad he is.

I don’t think I have felt so low about everything Shrewsbury for a very long time. Two that spring to mind are Shane Tudor, signed on loan from Vale in 2007, got injured in training and retired. Then we had Martin Woods, Tripped over the corner flag away at Market Drayton and went back to Scotland not long after 😂😂

can you imagine the outcry on here had Micky Moore signed him He's been labelled an expensive flop and one of the worst signings in our history for about 12 months. I'm not sure how much more of an outcry you want.

Could be a make or break week, or we could find ourselves plodding along just above relegation. The last 2 performances certainly have not given me any optimism to suggest we will pull ourselves away

I didn't give us any PTS against Blackpool....the vale,Exeter,Carlisle,Charlton, and Wycombe games...I gave us minimum 7/8 PTS...then target the Bristol game for the away win.....that would give us 10/11 PTS.....it is doable, but gonna be close
