Noted that Elliot Bennett is in the frame again for club initiatives. What an asset he seems to be to this club.

I saw the thread and pictured a really colourful ball, bit underwhelmed I guess having seen it, but I think I was expecting something a bit OTT

As I mentioned above, the usual suspects are churning out the usual lines about "Having it rammed down our throats" - namely on Facebook....it probably would have been the same on here 15 year ago with some former posters 😂 ... but kudos to the club on this, its great for PR (I know it runs far deeper than that!) But at least Salop are championing something relevant to some of the aspects of football pthat needs to be more inclusive,
being a straight near enough middle aged bloke, I've not really felt excluded (apart from when Dunc stood infront of me on the Riverside and I couldn't see RIP 💙) and its sad to actually understand that many people do feel genuinely excluded over something so...irrelevant when it comes to supporting your club. So well done Salop!

If you're offended by the colour of a football, you have issues.
Iif you're offended by people of the same sex who happen to like/love each other, you also have issues.

I've knocked up an alternative, ( click on it to enlarge ) Not sure we're always aligned with our sense of humour but I absolutely love this 😂 A crueller man than me would suggest this was an image of Moore, Taylor and Bignot at their media unveiling but alas.

I think it might be something happening throughout the league as for some reason a Stockport County post turned up on my Facebook feed announcing the same. From what I could tell there was over a thousand replies to that post from Stockport and I doubt all them would have been complementary. So perhaps we ought not to be too harsh on the Town support. I didn't realize Joey Barton was pretty instrumental in the laces campaign when it started a few years back. That's what he mention in a recent interview I caught, anyhow.

one thing, I would love to see how that ball handles in respect to a keeper, didn't have dimples on the ball in my day, looks a lot easier to hold ;-)
wouldn't fancy those dimples sticking in your forehead though when you head it

Stan Mortenson used to joke that when Stanley Matthews crossed the ball it arrived with the laces facing away from his forehead.

But which character would they be. I'd go: Taylor - Zippy Moore - Bungle Bignot - George

I tend to treat every Juan the same. Juan of my very best friends is gay. I've shared a room with him at away games if we've stayed over. If you have problems with gay people, it's you that has the problem.

As for religous beliefs, I thought the last census indicated we are now a secular society?

I don't have a massive issue with the rainbow ball but can I make one point. Is there ever a game where its not for some cause or other? Wasn't it her game too last time and also prostate cancer the time before and again I've no big issues with it but when will it be just a standard game.

As far as I'm concerned, they're all just a standard game. Shrewsbury Town are essentially being used as a vehicle to promote thier brand...that's all there is to it, we still got to the game the same way, we still went to pub/fanzone/McDs etc before the game, still enjoyed/hated the match, nothing changed except it was designated as a fixture for xyz

Really don't understand the point but it does not impact me so they could have it any colour they like providing it ends up in the Blackpool net.
