If you include the home game is that the quickest we have scored four goals against the same opposition?

Thought Reading looked v good going forward, esp in first half, their front three were all dangerous. Somehow we nullified them second half, for which credit must go to the management team. I would have been frustrated if I was a Reading fan and would have thought they deserved at least a point. However can’t really deny we deserved all three for them fighting spirit alone.
Reading will stay up no problem with that attack.

Under Hurst second time around we have got 7 points and 6 goals from the three away games and one point (and 2 goals) from the three home games. That is a bit of a puzzler especially considering how dominant we were at home in his first spell with us but, of course, he is managing a team of players that other people recruited. I reckon a point a game from the last 12 games will see us stay up fairly comfortably but it would certainly be nice to see these away performances replicated at home.

As for the game specifically, it was a simply brilliant 5 minutes followed by a poor and exposed 25 minutes and then a great response, tactical tweak and overall deserved away victory. I know its a bit of a cliché but I do think there is something to be said that a 2-0 lead can put you in a difficult spot and more so when its so early in the game. It can do funny things to you, you are neither here nor there, the game is won but far from over. If you get my meaning. Think we saw a bit of that yesterday.

Hurst has changed the level of entertainment dramatically and today we got the points that recent performances have deserved and we are to give him no credit? How ridiculous. We’ve switched formation with the same personnel and are better for it ffs. Today was wonderful. Another one to remember. We have had so few of those in recent League One years. As for the game specifically, it was a simply brilliant 5 minutes followed by a poor and exposed 25 minutes and then a great response, tactical tweak and overall deserved away victory. Bowman didn’t offer us much but we got away with that today, as we did with Feeney first half. We seemed to protect him much better second half. Fantastic win. Its not hard to make it more entertaining though. It really was predominantly awful under Taylor. Definite credit to Hurst but I think it's still early days For Taylor 28 matches in the league, in 16 of those town failed to score averaging 0.6 goals a match. That's just abysmal. Under Hurst so far, 6 games, averaging 1.3 goals a game and only 1 when town didn't score. Definitely better but it's still only a marginal improvement in points. Obviously a small sample but it's definitely a start, and a sign he can get more out of the existing squad. Remain confident they can stay up, but think it's another rebuilding job in summer and then who knows!

As always the opposition's board was an entertaining read. They liked Bloxham's performance and there were a few other positive comments 'They scored two worldies and scrapped and scrapped. Hats off to them' 'One of the better teams weve seen at home this season' Mostly negative about us though 'Awful performance against a far inferior side' 'Six points lost to one of the worst teams in this division' 'We were bizarrely robbed of three points' And my favourite 'This lot are crap and somehow winning after two goals those players will never score again in their s*** League 1 clogger careers'

Some of their fans still have a 'big club mentality'. They are still thinking of themselves as a big club and living on their season in the Premier.
Love to pick 3 points against sides that have fans with that attitude. 🙂

Did the Reading fans throw tennis balls onto the pitch? Judging by some of their comments they certainly seem highly strung.

A strange game yesterday. We scored three goals away from home, but one of the most creative teams I've seen this season in Reading. They won't go down, unless they get more points deducted. Alot of games left, but the big difference for me is getting Shipley up the pitch with Benning being the find of the season.

Just seen the Town’s ‘Checking in’ video on their Twitter account. From the body language of the players it looks like we’ve lost already. Hopefully Hurst and Doig can get them fired up before kick-off! 🤦🏻♂️

Still buzzing after yesterday’s result. Just checked my previous tickets, and before yesterday I’d gone 17 games without seeing a win! Six home games and 11 away. I knew it was a long time, but didn’t realise quite how long!

I'm guessing Pierre is crooked for a few games now? - Sraha as a straight replacement with Flanagan soon returning to fitness, could be a blessing in disguise.
