Lots of long lost names from the earlier days of B&A, some dearly departed, others have just managed to escape the place - Atcham Jack, El Huracan, Downie, Matron, hoover, Ned, monkee, Dr Crippen, ShrewdFingers, the list goes on… I think half of them are banned 😂 Doesn't Crippen have another user name which he tends to alternate with?? Back towards the end of the Rivals days I had a 2/3 day conversation with Crippen, he had a different name then.It covered several topics and was both thought provoking and provocative. He came oveas articulate, very intelligent and well educated. Towards the end I mentioned it to my then 12 year old daughter.She replied Oh that's xxx xxxx he's in my form at school....he was 12...I was 46😯 |

Not only a top poster, Geoff also pioneered the iconic look of tucked in polo collar into a round neck jumper. A look that took me years to master.

I joined in September 2003 and one of my first posts, a few months later, was to announce the impending doom of that lot at the Duck’s A **e. I was roundly chastised because I refused to name my source of the news. Shorty afterwards, it all went belly up and to his credit Downie linked the news to my earlier posts with the words “he was right”.
I could have avoided much aggro if I had said who told me but I would never betray a trust.

Remember showing up to some sort of meetup at The Crown, possibly to do with the move to the new ground, and the first person I bumped into was the world’s most racist taxi driver who regularly showered visiting black players with abuse.

Been around since 2007. I'd love a return to the betting league? That was good back in the day. I used to run the betting league for a bit. Was a good laugh! Some of the specials we did were a bit naughty! |

Wondering if there would be any interest if we brought it back….. fun died on here years ago, youve only got a tell a joke these day and you'll spend 3 days at The Commons in front of a select committee explaining it ;-) feel free to try and add some life into the forum but there are some professional buzzkills about who swoop to extinguish fun, and misery on here attracts company, even if they are not invited to the show |

I broadcast a rumour that I had been given by someone “in the know” that Andy Shaw was in trouble and Telford were about to go pop. As I wouldn’t divulge my source I was getting pelters from other posters. A week later it made the Sloppy Star and one person was big enough to apologise, the much missed Downie. And Trevor Challis moves over to us, gets kicked to death playing Telford. But fired us back to the FL a few weeks later at Stoke. |
