Been around since 2007.
I'd love a return to the betting league? That was good back in the day.

My most vivid memory of the Rivals board was just how far ahead of the curve Stutty was in calling our relegation back in 2003. . Not only Stutty, I was on 606 after the Everton game and the presenter asked whether I was worried about losing Ratcliffe to a bigger club. My response was to the effect that I was more worried about relegation. I still have the recording.

History? Someone should write an article... I bet you already have… Naturally. But... it's gone. I've just gone to look for it and the Oocities Geocities archive has been wiped by the looks of it. I don't know where to find it. I think I adapted it into a fanzine, so the words should exist still. I'm actually gutted. But yeah... 20 odd years of this board. And a decade of the Mailing List before that as a way for us all to talk. Whitters' Norway coat, meetings in the Crown or that other pub I've forgotten the name of. B&A meets at the Telepost (both of them). mIRC. Insane!

Had no idea that was you, or any B&A member for that matter, but do occasionally remember that phone call and laugh. In my head there was a tellingly long pause between the poorly-researched question and your answer.

Being a sentimental old chap and thinking of a favourite lost poster I have a loggerheads bear on the shelf above my computer in memory of the much missed Atcham Jack and his bears Graham and Roland.

He was a lovely man, we spent lots of time talking about steam railways, one of his passions. It was a very sad day indeed when we heard of his passing.

I never met him but he was a lovely poster who I remember fondly. I wish he were still here.

I'm one of the younger ones on here (I think!) so had no experience of the 'earlier' days. Despite all the feuds and animosity on here, it would be nice if there were pub nights like there used to be (or so I've been told). Be nice to put a face to the username.
Before I came on here I used to post on 606 (sadly long gone) and then Not606 where Atcham Jack was a regular a beloved poster. I have a picture of him in my mind as this eccentric and charismatic fella and would've loved to have gotten to know him, too. I'm sure he meant the world to those who knew him.

It’s possible that the social aspect fizzled out when we moved to an all seater stadium. As someone who doesn’t live in Shrewsbury I didn’t know anyone on B&A but standing on the Riverside or Wakeman people mixed and I got to learn who was who, mostly from Ant Thomas. It’s difficult to move around and make introductions in an all seater.

Also the fact that there isn’t just the one walk way in as well. I was amazed how many people I met walking in and out of Gay Meadow.

Sure many will remember the wind up merchant Kopthis. Supposedly a Notts County fan from about 10 years ago when they were (according to him) going to win the Premier League in something like 5 years time and blaze a trail of glory throughout Europe.
He seemed to fizzle out at roughly the same time as Noto came to 'fame'.......
Also can anyone remember Grimsby fan who used to post quite regularly on here from 10 (or more) years ago. Seemed quite a decent poster, anyone remember his name?

That’s him, Gavin, an excellent contributor to the board back in the day.( and a shining example of a visiting supporter adding value) Grimsby through and through but owned a beautiful caravan park in Saundersfoot in Pembrokeshire. I booked a holiday there at least twice through him and he was very welcoming. He sold up and emigrated to to Florida to buy a business there. Top bloke, and I wonder what he would make of the links between our club and Grimsby now with the Hurst thing playing out

Hopefully they will get the points needed to stay up this season.

Lots of long lost names from the earlier days of B&A, some dearly departed, others have just managed to escape the place - Atcham Jack, El Huracan, Downie, Matron, hoover, Ned, monkee, Dr Crippen, ShrewdFingers, the list goes on…

I was originally the imaginatively- named Nickjonesy, then became prawnsarnie. I think that coincided with the move to the New Meadow and the Sovereign Club.
Enjoyed many socials over the years, including footy, golf and various night’s out. Still view occasionally but post infrequently.
Amazes me that the same people are still having the same ongoing personal spats on a daily basis after all these years!

I used to see Dunc (Telford Shrew) pretty regularly as we both worked at the town centre and it was such a gut punch when I learned of his passing. In terms of those that just don't seem to post anymore, Murray and Martin James are two that I miss. Jeavo much less so.

Along with Kopthis, there was also a Bradford City fan who used to be a regular poster. They were supposed to be on the up, just like Notts County but have made league 2 their home now.

I've been on and off this board for a few years, originally as Rowen, then GwyneddBlue until I took a break before returning, again!
Was anyone ever on the club's official message board?
I was for a while but the numbers were pretty low when I stopped posting.
