I suppose it depends on the DoF If it the right person he may well benefit by having someone with experience to lean on But is who we have the right person? Judging by the football, no IMO

You are absolutely correct that we should have won today but therein lies the problem for the whole season. Poor tactics which leads us to being the lowest goal scorers in the whole EFL accompanied by second rate recruitment. your argument there is based on goal scorers or lack of them, and second rate recruitment etc have you even commented on O'BRIEN ? because I cant see one single mention of him from you that guy is probably STILL ON more than the rest of our forward line put together What's O'Brien got to do with the current management? He has nothing to do with what I say about the current situation.

MT has the players to be comfortably mid-table in this league. He needs to experiment a little more with formation tweaks to find the best solution given the abilities of the squad and limited striker options.
4-1-4-1 may well be the way forward.

Out of the existing (fit) squad who would you have in each position?

Listen to the interviews from the start of the season. The DoF clearly stated that he would bring in players to suit the system that the HC was expected to use and that system was based around 3 centre backs - so 3-5-2 or 5-3-2. I guess that this system would be foreign to MT as I can’t imagine it was used by Spurs Academy. As for Hurst, it is pretty certain that he would want a free reign as regards to bringing in players so I can’t see him answering to a DoF with little or no experience of managing a club at this level.

With the rumours that Hurst and Wycherley have been communicating and both sides prepared to work together should the call be made, I wonder if Mickey Moore is shifting a little uneasily in his padded seat. As you say, Hurst has only ever been a manager and not a head coach, and the more we watch this season unfold the more diminished the role of a head coach appears to be.

The sensible thing would be for Roland to dip into his pocket and pay him off or conversely the current coaching staff take him in hand and prove that they are capable of producing the player he was, supposedly. Incidentally whilst he was at Sutton he did not count under FFP rules "Player wages included in the SCMP calculation relate to all contract players (full contract, non-contract, multiplicity etc.) and loan players. Wage costs for players loaned out to other clubs are deducted for the period of the loan."

He was summoned to RW’s house the following day (Sunday) and “relieved of his duties”. When asked by the press if he knew what was coming? He said that he had a pretty good idea as he didn’t think he was being invited for Sunday lunch!

46% has now moved on to 61% in favour…… You mean 54 in favour has moved to 61 ? Including presumably with the help of several who can't stand hurst 😝 So only 39% don't want hurst back yesterday 🙃 and this all based on hurst keeping us up remember , Seems to me the guy we already having is doing exactly that at the moment Some fans just don't know what they want really apart from a moan 😜

Just because you give anyone a mission to keep us up, doesn’t mean it will happen! Nothing is guaranteed in football, which is why it’s such a great game.

There's a huge monkey on their backs with the O'Brien business - our current recruitment staff cannot make the same mistake that was made then.

There is a reason why people on this board, the media and the fans constantly want to rotate the Hurst and (the emerging) Cotterill come back line. Because there teams were actually good and delivered top half finishes in the League. Stevenage are a team freshly promoted and yet have gone straight past Town this season. With Hurst you got great results, good pressing football, great defence (limited goals scored) - A media trained non passionate press interviews, which could be a little dull, Players no one had heard of becoming crowd favourites, Going toe to toe with the 'Big Boys' in the Lrague. With Cotterill, you got a great tactician, with a painfully tidy squad yet (likely) high wages, marquee signing (for league one), dull but generally effective football, a core squad a bond with the fans and cringe worthy interviews at times. Both were miles ahead of anything Taylor is currently delivering or that Askey or Ricketts did. I'd say Hurst and Cotterill were even better than Mellon and the Legendary GT (given that their promotions were in L2). imagine a businessman bringing in a guy to run his business which 46% of his customers already state they dont want You'd be surprised...happens all the time in politics

I suppose the question is...when does it become just totally beyond reproach and Taylor has to go? Have we reached that point yet...imo...I would say yes...(style of play, lack of goals etc, seemingly on a slope to League 2).

Out of the existing (fit) squad who would you have in each position? I’d like to see us try 4-2-3-1 as it would give us more of a presence in midfield and actually suits the players we have available better Bennett Dunkley Pierre Benning Kenneh Winchester Idowu Bayliss Shipley Bowman Bennett isn’t fit enough to play RWB and Benning is traditionally more of a LB anyway. Sobowale, Udoh (once fit) and Mata could provide alternative options to Idowu, Bayliss and Bowman. Even Bloxham could fit into that system if he stays.
