Can't wait. Its a shame there's no fences to rock on though... The only fence that you’re used to rocking is the one in Flossies field as she tries to escape from another pounding courtesy of you and your inbred pals. Don’t forget - leave your wellies at Chirk McDonalds and for the love of God wear something other than that Lonsdale tracksuit please 😂

According to the Red Passion forum we are obsessed with them and of course they have never given us a second thought… why would they after languishing in the National League for so long? They probably thought about Telford more I suppose. How do they know if they don’t spend time on our sites?!

Can't wait. Its a shame there's no fences to rock Notorious posting about rocking fences, that's made me all nostalgic. I'm looking forward to a month of him retelling the Wxm boys exploits around Salop. Those days are long gone now of course, with their new breed of fans I'd imagine the biggest problem from them will be all the Americans attempting to pronounce Shrewsbury A sign of the confidence of the great artists is to be able to drop a couple of your hits into your set early doors, but the crowd know there's still plenty more to come - yes, we've already had the Sabrina booking and rocking fences, but we've still got Gary Bennet's funny dance, tables at Wetherspoons, random hooligan nostalgia and many more left to play. Wouldn't be surprised if Noto treats us to a few repeats in the encore too. It's like Springsteen coming out and playing Born to Run and Badlands straight off the bat, a brilliant start and you know the pace just isn't going to let off.

Not the draw either team would've wished for but lets be honest it could've been much worse like Chesterfield away. We owe you one after our last game when we dropped out of the league. This is great as its a free hit for us.
We usually turn up in FA Cup games so I'm expecting us to do the same for this one.
Personally I think you'll be on the receiving end of a Paul Mullin & Elliot Lee masterclass.
There's some wishful thinking on this thread with regards to our support being 'plastic' which is highly amusing. Define that in any way you want but the reality is more fans = more money and its just jealously driving those ill-thought out brain farts. I couldn't give a flying one if the new fans are from LA or LL13, who gives a sh!t?
Want your club to grow and start heading up instead of down? You'll need more fans for that, this shouldn't come as any sort of surprise but it seems lost on some on here.
If nothing else this game will prove a useful scouting mission for Sir Parky and his team. Any players we want, we then have the rest of January to get which won't be any issue for us now.

Fair play to those real fans attending before Covid, they deserve the credit for keeping your club alive. You were averaging 3,000 a week before Covid.

You sound like a bit of a plastic yourself to be honest. More bothered about success than the identity of your club. You’d prefer a tie against a Premier League B team in a half empty stadium to a historic local rivalry? And you don’t care who follows your team, as long as it means more money? No doubt you’ll carry on rising up the leagues, but there’s no doubt that you’ve sold your soul on the way. It must feel pretty hollow for the genuine three and a half thousand of you.

If Wrexham are half as good as their fans they think they are, they’ll wipe the floor with us. We’ve got no money, half a squad out injured and we don’t play football all that well. To be honest if they lose to us they may as well not bother getting promoted this year, although the way some of their fans are crowing you’d think that was already a formality.

The problem is, football fans generally have a problem with clubs who grow quite quickly through a load of cash being thrown at it, when the fanbase (invevitably) grows then the new followers will be called gloryhunters, tourists, plastic, etc. It applies at all levels, Rushden, Wigan, MK Dons, Chelsea, Man City, etc. I'll give you credit that you haven't tried to deny it and claim that you've always had large crowds and all of those who now go remember the good old days of Joey Jones, Mickey Thomas, etc.

Being an old git, Walsall were always the rival we needed to beat. We were pretty much always third division. Wrexham, in those days were fourth division, Crewe and Chester too. My first recollection of playing them was in the League Cup and the FA Cup, both at home and in the same season. We stuffed ‘em twice, 6-1 and 5-1. Happy days. Bring it on. Your memory is playing tricks with you, we played Wrexham every season from October 1970 to April 1982 in League Games except for 1974/75 when SHREWSBURY were in Division 4. The Cup games were 1966 & 1967.

Mr Proud. I agree with your first 3 teams but in my 7 decades Chelsea and Manchester City have always been "big" teams despite on occasions under achieving I wouldn't disagree but amongst some fans (particularly those who think football was invented in 1992) they aren't seen as big clubs and anyone who supports them is jumping on the bandwagon. Many of their longstanding fans initially welcomed the investment and success but over time have become disillusioned with what their club have become as they have been priced out and become the play-thing for the rich/corporate/tourist fans. It will be interesting to see whether that affects them from over the border in years to come.

My last sentence wasn't serious. I mean as if we'd be that desperate! (Another joke for those like martin who struggle) Your average attendance figure that you've plucked out of thin air before covid is incorrect, yet more wishful thinking. But yet again, who cares? Successful football team has more fans now than 5 years ago when we were struggling shocker. Hold the back page! You say it like its some kind of unique transformation that's only ever happened to us. Not the brightest thing to use as some sort of tick to beat us with. You can surely do better than that? What about "oh its a circus now" or "wait until they get bored and leave you bankrupt" or "Mullin is on 50k per week no wonder you're doing well". We've got loads of "stick" (its mostly uninformed brain dead drivel) from fans of other clubs but I must say this thread contains some of the worst I've seen since I read a tweet from a bitter Chester fan back in 2021.

Its about how you grow. I reserve judgement until your next set of accounts. Your new owners claimed they wouldn't add debt to the club. First set of accounts when failing to buy promotion added £3million of debt to the club. If all the claims of not over paying players and having mega income streams are true I would expect that £3million debt to reduce. If the debt increases I would be very worried if I supported your Club

Genuinely looking forward to playing you again, it's been far too long since we've been rotting in National league for 15 seasons.
For us, this was always decent rivalry, sadly always had an ugly side to it. I would say it's probably not our main derby as that will always be Chester but it's definitely above Tranmere Crewe etc.
I have seen a lot of comments on here which just ain't true. Obviously, a lot has changed in the last few years but the stadium is not full of people called Hank and Brad wearing fanny packs yelling "I believe we will win" 🤣 They only get around 40 tickets. The plastic comments do make laugh I remember you struggling to get 3000 now you get 6k so they must be plastic too yeah?
Obviously, the money is huge and the reason we got promoted, but the club always had potential due to the catchment area. But the money we've spent ain't been wasted, it's been spent very wisely.
In the last 15 years, we've looked at you with envy, got out of the NL very quickly and have been a decent club for a number of years. It's just nice to be playing at a level that actually resembles football.
Although our squad is decent, like yourselves, injuries seem to be piling up, although Ryan Barnett will be back for this fixture. So glad you released him because it goes some way for giving us Richard Hope, who still to this day (and we have played in the National League for 15 seasons) remains the worst player I've seen in a Wrexham shirt.
Nothing will compare to the days of the Gay Meadow, as that place had so much character and a fantastic atmosphere, but hopefully the rivalry will build again, and the hooligans will stay away. One good thing about selling out every away game is they can no longer get tickets, but with it being down the road, they are bound to travel.
Anyway, hopefully it's a decent game and no trouble!!
