Surely you’ve never got 34 mates? I'm sure you'll contravene some local bye law about letting riff raff on the river. No jolly boating for you, anyway good luck getting to the croud by boat.

According to the Red Passion forum we are obsessed with them and of course they have never given us a second thought… why would they after languishing in the National League for so long? They probably thought about Telford more I suppose.

Pathetic behaviour really, if you can’t admit to looking forward to a local derby, the first one in 15 years because of your own clubs ineptitude, because you’re too busy pretending to be massive then you’ve lost your soul. Unless of course they’re trying to downplay it because they’re already worried we’ll dump them out?

As it's against another bottom tier club, I hope the club do reduced pricing That’s a good point 😅 But I wouldn’t think they will due to the interest around the game. And tbh I don’t mind that either. An opportunity to swell the coffers a bit, particularly with what’s been said about the spending by the previous regime.

Can we complain about the packed fixture schedule, send the 1st team on warm weather training, play the juniors, and charge a pound in so Wrexham get pennies at the gate? 🤣

It's entertaining really, the last few rounds when it's come to the day of the draw I've seen plenty of their fans saying on social media they want to draw us, now it's happened, it's us that are obsessed Over the years I've heard lots about them not caring about us, I just remind them about certain things, a few of their fans turning up at the ground & graffitiing Wxm over it, them taking so much joy about winning the last non derby/derby at Gay Meadow. All completely normal behaviour for a club they don't care about

Perhaps the last few seasons have gone to the head, and they see themselves as too ‘massive’ to get excited over a local derby in the third round of the cup. Perhaps when playing premier league clubs isn’t the norm, as it has been for us over the last decade, you would be disappointed to be playing a league one club. Hey ho, hope we stuff em!

Not at all surprising. It’s a fanbase of Johnny-come-latelys and tourists. Never forget they were averaging home crowds of about three and a half thousand before covid.

Actually to be fair to them, they probably are right, they don't see us as a big game. Afterall, the last game at the Racecourse attracted a crowd of 4,300 so only around 3,000 locals turned out for it

Being an old git, Walsall were always the rival we needed to beat. We were pretty much always third division. Wrexham, in those days were fourth division, Crewe and Chester too. My first recollection of playing them was in the League Cup and the FA Cup, both at home and in the same season. We stuffed ‘em twice, 6-1 and 5-1. Happy days. Bring it on.

on a much more positive note, this game might give the injured players an incentive to get fit quicker, maybe not as much as away to a top premier club might have done but its still going to send a buzz around the squad

I haven't posted in years as, much as I love Salop, it's hard to get that excited from afar about the perennial race for 16th with another estate agent at the helm.
But allow me to come out of retirement for a second to say what a ****ing excellent draw this is.
Those of you who'll be there, I envy you all.
I would love it if we show up in their lame OK Magazine documentary as The Bad Guys and annoy them by cheating our way to a massively underserved win, drawing United in the next round and trousering a cheeky mil or two.

It's making me quite nostalgic being back in this forum. I remember that guy. Does anyone else remember the time he claimed to get his car waxed 3 times a week by the same Bulgarian guy? Without any irony at all? One of the best posts in B and A history that, for my money.

For all that talk of them being a sleeping giant who always had big crowds and definitely, no honest Guv, haven't just started turning up because some Americans are making a documentary about them, that clip beautifully demonstrates the plastic nature of their fanbase. Crucial game in the battle against relegation, half an hour drive and an away end no busier than Bristol Rovers or someone would bring for a mid-season game.
Hope we stuff them.

Tbf controversially, much as we hate to admit it, they probably are a bigger club than us right now. Division below maybe, but probably not for long, and nearly 10k at home to Yeovil is a long way from what we could ever hope for. I hope we smash them of course, but with our misfiring frontline, albeit better of late, vs Mullins and Palmer…I fear the worst!

Regarding Noto and the Sabrina Cruise, he's had them on retainer for our first meeting back for over 15 years now.
"Yes I know I promised you we'd have a boatload for next season, but I'll have to reschedule. Yes, we did lose to Curzon Athletic. Honestly, next season. Definitely. No, we won't throw it away against Dover."
It's no wonder management have decided to get their own back by confirming the booking for a time that obviously won't happen.

Can't wait. Its a shame there's no fences to rock Notorious posting about rocking fences, that's made me all nostalgic. I'm looking forward to a month of him retelling the Wxm boys exploits around Salop. Those days are long gone now of course, with their new breed of fans I'd imagine the biggest problem from them will be all the Americans attempting to pronounce Shrewsbury
