Is he still comically out of shape? Don’t think I’ve actually seen him since he re-signed.

As things stand I can see him being with us until the end of the season.
He put in a decent performance on Tuesday evening.

It would be ridiculous not to keep him until the end of this season . The way things are going we need every member of our squad . I also think Pierre would be ( is) more than a little pleased to be back with us .

I went cold when I saw this thread again , I read the title and thought he'd gone again , he looked good on Tuesday , it would quite a turn around if he could become the tank he once was for us , I think Bristol city at home was the peak Pierre , it would be great to see him like that again

Pierre’s downfall was playing for Granada, his career declined from that moment & he never looked in shape/fit since. Tuesday was positive & I hope he can put in another big performance tonight

His form got worse post-Covid, when he wouldn't have been going so often.

I also think Pierre would be ( is) more than a little pleased to be back with us . Obviously it depends on what offers he gets in January (if someone is willing to pay him more and/or guarantee him first team minutes), but I agree. Feeney is injury prone (although his current one is quite freakish, he's had a number of hamstring injuries throughout his career), and Flanagan is likely to be out for a while. I also think he's probably the player who would most naturally deputise for Dunkley if he got a knock, or picked up a suspension.

There’s something very comical about this. If you don’t laugh you’ll cry. I just re-read this whole thread, and you were ahead of your time, its very comical, no wonder some of you are in hiding today

I’d be interested to know our firm & goals conceded since Pierre came back into the team.
He’s been a rock at the back for us and will only get better, he’s hardly played any football for 12 months

There’s something very comical about this. If you don’t laugh you’ll cry. I still maintain it was laughable that we had to go back to a walking tub of lard, who had barely played any football in the 2/3 years since leaving us, but credit where it’s due he’s obviously worked really hard to get back match fit and to be making an impact. Congratulations to him on a well deserved extension to the end of the season.

Happy to hold my hand up and say I was wrong. It is possible you know, to be wrong. It just takes humility to admit it!

He seems to be the final missing piece of the jigsaw, rather like Killian Phillips was when he first arrived in January.
Good move to extend his contract

Think there will be several ins and outs in January. Some of the ins in August havnt worked out as we hoped, mainly due to injury.

I saw someone on Twitter say he was brought in because we had so many injuries, Ollie Westbury rightly pointed out that wasn't the case, when he was signed the only defender who was injured was Morgan and that's why I was questioning why we signed him as we had plenty of cover
With the injuries we've had it looks to have been a masterstroke by Taylor/Moore, it of course would sound very strange to say that they've been 'lucky' to have all those injuries (and I'm not suggesting they are) but if we hadn't then I suspect we would have seen little of Pierre, he'd be getting released and it would have looked a bizarre little episode. But strange how things work out.

I was trying to say that we appear to be stronger defensively with Aaron in the team.(don't know why I just didn't say that rather than go for a silly comment)

Reverting back to the deep line, compact, tough-to-break-down away set up that served us better in past seasons plays to the strengths of both Dunkley and Pierre. It’s not pretty, but it got us 4 points and 2 clean sheets from the Exeter and Wycombe games.
