In his interview he says he’s in mid season. I wonder if this will impact on him towards the end of our season. Apart from that welcome to him and let’s hope he does well. imagine appearances will be spread out (udoh and bowman be main strikers?) Hopefully hits the ground running due to being in game fitness

Welcome Max. Hope you make more of an impact than the other Kiwi striker we signed on a three-year deal - the one and only Kris Bright. Still shudder at how terrible he was and makes the O'Brien signing look like a steal. Agree Bright was terrible but I do recall him scoring one winning goal for us which is more than can be said for O'Brien at the moment.

Have a feeling this was a 6 figure signing. What makes you say that? They would be screaming from the rooftops if it had broken their transfer record which stood at 85k euros £50k in pounds. Decent signing fit and ready to go and joint top scorer in Ireland. He will come with fairly cheap wages well worth a punt

This is encouraging and he's a goal scorer. Should be a good fit for league 1.

A couple of things to point out. Firstly, he has been playing League of Ireland football, which is very similar in level to league one, so he should be used to the rough and tumble. Secondly, he was bought from a LOI team, which means they are probably skint, and so the transfer fee would be nowhere near six figures!

Home office approval and arrival of his visa ? This could take months.

Home office approval and arrival of his visa ? This could take months. Really good point! Just done some research and it looks like he can play under an FA GBE for 3 years. I think the FA do all of this on behalf of the club on a points based system. It's very complicated , but from the FA page it looks like League one and League two clubs can only sign 2 foreign players.

if we've paid a fee this will be down to amortization, instead of the cost going on our FFP over 1 or 2 years its now divided in 3, it will allow our budget to be stretched a little more

Home office approval and arrival of his visa ? This could take months. If he had arrived on a dinghy in Kent he’d doubtless be playing next Saturday.

Id give him a runout .

Reads of a lot of intent and commitment from our management hierarchy right up to Roland. Good to see that it was Matt T who went over to personally check him out.

No update on the work permit application then?
Is there a usual timeframe for this sort of thing?

I was onto The Office of Public Guardian (deal with power of attorney etc) yesterday. The recorded message said currently there’s a 20 week wait until things are looked at. I pointed out it had been 24 weeks and was told they receive 6000applications a day and can no longer predict or give a timeframe, she inferred they were in chaos. Same with Passport and Driving licences so could be weeks 😩
hoping now I’ve said that it will come through for Mondays game🤞
