Think of the number of FA charges and disclipinary action the club has faced due to conduct from our players and coaching staff in recent years - where are the statements then?

Personally I think the perpetrator should be found and should pay the fine as well as be banned!

"The possession and use of pyrotechnic devices also brings the name of the club into disrepute." Naa, I think the players and staff have managed to do that already

Nothing better than a bit of pyro at an away game.
Excellent work, and excellent support in general from the away end on Saturday.

Perhaps the pro pyro people would like to set up a justgiving page to pay the club's fine?

I give up on people sometimes. Why do they feel the need to go to matches and do things like this, or throw things on pitch, being racist to players 😡

Rightly or wrongly (I'm sure many will say wrongly) they are fairly commonplace up and down the country nowadays, it would be interesting to know if any clubs have been charged over them and if so, whether they have had any fines. I suspect this is the club doing this in an attempt to look they are doing something, I'd be surprised if we were to get fined.
But even if we were, I'm fairly confident that the conduct of our players will end up costing the club a lot more than the conduct of our fans this season.

Oh dear. exactly there is no comparison would you rather be subjected to a racist chant or potentially injured/scarred for life/ killed by a pyro device ? personally neither but if i had to choose then just shout something moronic at me wouldn't be the first time

Personally I'd be disappointed if there weren't a couple of smoke devices (note; not flares. Some of the hysteria might be justified about actual flares, smoke not so much) let off in a 4 nil away win in front of 1k+ fans. Good to hear the away fans are maintaining standards 👍

I think the words "at risk" are the important ones in that statement.
So, at risk but unlikely.

I find the smoke bomb argument interesting because you'll see the media and even some football clubs themselves using photos of players or fans celebrating around where smoke bombs have been set off and you can't dispute it makes a cracking photo.
Is it not part of the romanticism of matches on the continent where TIFO and pyro displays are looked on with envy by most football fans in this country?
But like Frankwell says, some actual distinction between a fairly innocuous smoke bomb and a flare, or firework, or IED or any of the other hyperbolic nonsense would help 'cool down' some of the hysteria (see what I did there?!).

Wen the steward tried to remove one of the objects, some of our lot started chanting “w*****.” I assumed that was directed at the pea brain who threw it.

The EFL have taken a much more active role in monitoring this, this season following the issues at the end of last season across all the leagues. This isn't just a Salop issue many clubs have seen an increase in fan problems but that will just increase the need for the EFL or other relevant parties to act. Like it or not pyros are not welcome and id rather have the money to send on players than on a EFL fine.

Makes me smile when I read statements like this… have the football authorities in England not seen what Rangers fans do before their games?

There’s a time and a place. In front of 3,500 people in a league 1 game isn’t it. I think it’s quite sad and looks embarrassing.

Just out of interest, did anyone get searched or patted down enter the ground on Saturday? Is that something you see in England these days? As I guess its pretty easy to get stuff into the ground if that's not the case.
