Fleetwood Town, whose owner Andy Pilley is in court over fraud and money laundering charges, have made losses of over £20m and owe companies controlled by Mr Pilley over £21m.
So this explains why they can keep running up debts - Pilley is the creditor.

Follow Northwest mans link.It takes you to a company called Fleetwood Wanderers, with the directors correspondence addresses being either their ground at Highbury or the trading ground I'm as confused as you guys, maybe NWM can tell us more?

Your right except the name of the company (owners) doesn’t have to be the name of the footy club …. Im going by Wiki so maybe wrong Re-formed in 1997 as Fleetwood Wanderers F.C., the club was placed back in Division One of the North West Counties Football League (now the tenth tier of the English League system) and a sponsorship deal saw the club's name immediately changed to Fleetwood Freeport. The club was promoted to the Premier Division of the North West Counties League in 1999 and the name was reverted to Fleetwood Town in 2002.

Finally got my brain back into gear..it's the heat that's frying me !!!!
I had forgotten that it's quite usual. In Fleetwoods case it's Fleetwood Wanderers T/A Fleetwood Town
Back in our one good season in L1 someone found out that Blackburn Rovers was nothing more than a trading name of something like London....Ltd..something to do with the Indian chicken farmers who own them.
Similarly before Fosun bought Wolves their trading name was WW1975 t/a Wolverhampton Wanderers

Going to Ipswich you mean.... or Fleetwood? (rumoured on their forum) Fleetwood have today sold striker Ellis Harrison to Port Vale which suggests that Stockton could be coming in as his replacement.

Hmm, you would also have to question any player or the morals of an agent who even considers signing when this is going on too.

...agreed. However if Piley is found guilty and is sent to prison ( he's been there before !) then the football team is in deep trouble.
They would need to find a new owner who would need to clear the debt.
Have a particular dislike of Fleetwood..and Salford &FGR..one man and his money clubs

Whilst I’d love to sign Cole Stockton - the only way we’d be affording him and his rumoured price tag of around £400k would be selling Udoh

I find it both astonishing and perturbing that given the small squad we currently have that Steve Cotterill says we would like two players in but to achieve that one must most likely go out. REALLY! Something does not ring right here. Are we talking Bloxham out on loan? Rekeil heading for pastures new? How do small clubs like Accrington Stanley manage to survive and flourish then on small gates and larger squads than us? I am left rather puzzled. Whilst I am all for financial prudence I fear we are heading for another season where we struggle to provide a subs bench with much quality on it, possibly an even worse season if injuries or suspensions accumulate at any pace! The fanbase may well become increasingly frustrated if that were to happen

Not too bothered about Stockton to be honest. His goalscoring record prior to last season has been ordinary at best. Re sale value at his age not huge unless he gets a big contract and has an absolutely bumper season. Hasn't even started this season well. Surprised if town would break transfer record for him

Not much of an update but a couple of things on Phillips and Stockton Burnley signed another player yesterday - although more of a winger. However now Scott Twine is out for a while, so Phillips will probably stay on the bench. Possibly another central midfielder needed for Burnley for Phillips to head out

He's said about the squad being too big when he arrived. It's his way and therefore he'll be accountable if it goes wrong. Unless fans specify to CEO and chairman future managers have a bigger squad - min. Of 20 first team players. Question for SP parliament 😉

Surprised if town would break transfer record for him Even in that game they lost 5-0 he looked decent, he's a brute of a guy, would definitely add something to our strike force without doubt! I'd like us to sign him, but I wouldn't be passing much in excess of our record fee.

A simplistic view perhaps shaped by years of playing Football Manager but the players brought in so far you'd expect to command pretty big wage demands - O'Brien turned down Pompey for us (where he already was), Bayliss, Shipley and Dunkley came from higher league or 'bigger' clubs. Moore and Dacosta we're probably covering most of the wages for - if not all.
If there's any budget left I expect Cotterill has to choose between someone like Stockton or 2/3 less established potentially lower quantity players.

Would we want sale of Udoh to fund purchase of Stockton? No. Depends if you are a supporter, or those in charge of running the club. SC has said that one might have to go out to bring another in. Madness if so, even if the one put is Bloxham or Pyke with the size of our squad.
