He won't fetch anything like that, surely. Went to Bristol City when they were in the Championship, now put up for transfer by Peterborough as they go up - evidently not considered good enough for the Championship and only 2 goals in 27 league appearances last season in League 1. Can't see him getting a move higher than the third tier in England as it stands. If that's a £1m striker in the post-pandemic market, football can have no financial problems for anyone to be concerned about! His stats for last season are bad as mostly all sub appearances. £300k or so would probably get him but the wages would be very high you’d imagine Agreed, he might still be out of our range but the fact he was a sub so often says a lot.

Tad on unfair, last season he was playing second fiddle to Clarke-Harris, season before that he was playing second fiddle to Toney as Peterborough seem to favour playing one up top. Bit of a luxury player for them having someone of that quality sat on the bench. I don’t expect it to happen but I think we could still spend £300k on a player if we really wanted to, don’t forget Roland thinks about player resale values.

Sure, I'm not saying he isn't a good striker and I'd love him to come here. But, if you're playing second fiddle at 25-26 in a League 1 team, it doesn't suggest you're a ready made £1m Championship player and he'll be 27 when next season starts. I'll be amazed (& a little horrified) if we see that sort of amount paid in League 1 this summer - unless Sunderland blow the play offs again!

Just as an aside, the Eisa' s are brothers I think. Should we by chance sign him it would be fairly unique to have 2 brothers playing for Town ( as for most other clubs).
How often has it happened before? The obvious ones for Town were Frank and Wayne Clarke. Any other brothers played for us, event not at the same time.

Abo Eisa has come on a lot in LG2

Eisa has been transfer listed I think it’s Peterborough’s policy to transfer list all players when they reach the final year of their contract Think he's got 2 years left on his contract, but yes Peterboro do announce transfer lists much more openly than other clubs. But wouldn't be surprised to still see him there next season as they will want good money for him

The only player Cotterill has let go that could play in the championship is Goss. I would say that he offered Goss a deal which Goss could better elsewhere and who could blame him. I would say Goss had others all over him before the season end. Cotterill knows he has to get championship material in end of. The same applies to Cotterill, he knows who he wants and the players that will play for him.

Did Wayne Clarke have an older brother that played for us i think he was in the hall of fame? Frank was the centreforward when I first started watching Town regularly. An excellent player who we sold to QPR.

An excellent player who we sold to QPR. he was poached by bobby Robson in the town centre Bobby Robson was in Vancouver in 1967 and became Fulham manager in early 1968. Frank Clarke moved to QPR in February 1968, this looks like a case for Inspector Swan.

In 1969 Frank Clarke was playing for QPR and Bobby Robson was manager of Fulham and about to move to manage Ipswich. Clarke joined Ipswich in 1970.

I asked Jim but he couldn’t remember it.
