Keeping Chapman next season must be an absolute priority. Unfortunately that will be out of our control as he isn’t our player, I’d be surprised if he was here next season myself.

I was really impressed by that performance. It is not easy to play against the arm wrestling/head tennis style of a Burton team packed with very canny players at this level but the back three held firm and everyone put in a shift. We were clinical when we got chances (and how often can we say that?) and in the second half especially played it around well at times. No one takes 17 th place away from us!

looking at the burton goal defenders can lunge in in such a dangerous area but he got past the first defender to easily but hte second town players should have done more to block the shoot, but on the other side of the coin some good anticipation by main and a sublime header ,also chapman is just so leathal in the area two good goals for town. most importantly was the three valuable points. two tough games and four points so well done town

I didn’t doubt Main got a touch, just wasn’t sure it was over the line at first I think he did, as do the people who decide these things it seems....(just re read your post we’re in agreement) If you look when the ball passes him he does throw his head towards it with a sort of flick but then his eyes follow the ball as it goes in and he celebrates as if it was his touch. But whoever scored it was Ogbeta’s dangerous cross / shot that created the goal for the seconds game running.

When you look at the form table we’re doing well in 9th but so are Blackpool and Doncaster with Blackpool against bottom side (form) Plymouth on Saturday. Having said that Portsmouth aren’t much better with many of the top clubs low on form. Its not over but always looks that way after a win. thefishy.co.uk/formtable.php?table=3

It was a nice gesture to invite Jags family and team mates to Saturday's game. But I did wonder if we might get permision to fill the "best seat in the house" with one lucky season ticket holder drawn out of the hat? Maybe making it a condition that they had to report back to the rest of us, even just by post match interview.

i dont agree with the "bizrre" comment in the article , i think it was an instinctive reflex htat turned into a sublime goal, he anticipated the cross did a good run to get there before the defender or kepper and we need to see more of that as Ogbetta has produced a number of quality crosses unfortently most have not had any end product due to players not anticipating them and taking a punt. well done town. www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbu ry-town-fc/2021/03/23/curtis-main-no-doubt-its-my-shrewsbury-goal/ "Goalscorer Curtis Main claimed there was no taking away his bizarre headed opener in Shrewsbury Town's fine 2-1 victory at Burton Albion last night.Centre-forward Main reacted sharply to glance a flicked headed from a spinning deflected cross over Burton's goalkeeper for a sixth-minute opener. Harry Chapman slammed in a volley before the hour to double Salop's lead and Town held on comfortably despite Sean Clare halving the arrears for the hosts. Main's second goal, and first from open play, since arriving in January caused some confusion with suggestions Nathanael Ogbeta's diverted cross may have spun and bounced straight over Ben Garratt."

I’m just hoping that Ogbeta will take a shot and actually get the credit for a goal. Not that I am decrying Main for one minute - he deserved the goal. But coming so soon after Saturday when it went down as an OG I am hoping soon Ogbeta gets a goal that is credited to him!!

I thought it was a nice cute finish from Main when I first caught the goal. I think he did get a flick on that and I think he knew exactly what he was looking to do. A real clever finish.

Shropshire Star not covering themselves in glory, "bizarre"? Not at all! Plus providing "full live commentary" from the wrong match - some team called Walsall? versus some team called Southend? Standards are slipping.

It certainly wasn't a shot and only became a dangerous cross because Main went to the near post (like a proper striker!) and produced a really clever flicked header. The keeper was bamboozled by it - great finish, Main deserves a lot of credit for that.

Not a classic but a win is a win and plenty of positives, not least the fact we were without Sarkic, Pierre, Norburn & Whalley who, in particular the first three, are the spine of our team. I thought Williams was exceptional tonight, he is one of a few that really need to perform for the final month or two of the season in order to secure a new contract, however I'm giving MOTM to Main but special mentions to the Duracell bunny Josh Vela & EEL. When do we start the GoFundMe page to help pay Chapman's wages next season? After the absolute calamitous start it is amazing to think only Sunderland have lost less games than us in the division. Truly incredible statistic & turnaround. Don’t think Williams needs to prove himself at all. We’ll be struggling to keep him in the summer as it is after 2 good seasons. With his age he could well get a championship contract next or top league 1

I'd like Williams to be a bench option next season, decent player but if we want to be troubling top 6, I think we need better to be playing week in week out. Fine with him as cover

Looked to me as if Main scored off his eyebrows! That would be first if true.
Another cracking goal by Chapman.
We aren't quite safe yet but we are pretty damn close.
I think we'll finish off in 13th place, which would be some achievement after the hole Rickett's dug us into.

Its nice to be hear dreaming of it but lets be real. Going on our current form under SC/AW then we should finish on or around 65 points which would be a very respectable top half finish if that continues.
