Feels like this game is coming too quickly after such a deep dip in our performances last week.
I'll be happy with anything that isn't a defeat and I don't expect it'll make for good viewing. Hope I'm wrong about that but I don't plan to spend a tenner and two hours finding out.

Not watching tonight but rest assured if things go bad I’ll be first on here to point fingers and say what we should’ve done better.

I'll tune in because I am sick of Netflix and I have just finished Narcos Mexico.
I had a quick scan of the films I haven't seen, but they all look bobbins.
I hope Main gets a hat-trick, just to shut up the Twitter mob.

I expect nothing less than a 7-1 win 😜 Possibly because of that win, I'd covinced myself we had a decent record at Dale. It's only been the last year or two where I realised what an awful record we have, probably made worse by the fact I'd been to many of those games (including the game where we lost despite being 3-1 up). I predict an awful game of football which is decided by a scr@ppy goal, lets hope it is us that manages to nick it We have had an impressive ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of defeat there. The game there on Good Friday under Hurst was really depressing too, one up and cruising before falling apart after an admittedly really bad injury for Toto. That was the moment where it became clear 3rd was our lot that season. The last two vists there under Ricketts were painful too. There's been a lot of away trips where it's painful to imagine what a great day out it would have been under normal circumstances, but this is most certainly not one of them. Actually don't mind Rochdale, but hope they go down so I can avoid being tempted by a trip there for a defeat for a couple of years.

That’s the annoying thing about Rochdale. We don’t do well there but I never wish them any ill!!

I’d take a 0-0. When did we last keep a clean sheet?
I don’t really buy this bogey team idea, there is no reason why any team should be a persistent bogey side over many seasons, especially when the players change ever6 couple of seasons.

rochdale start as favourites, but I don,t fancy having any money on them, I didnt fancy our chances at Bristol and right as it turned out, but I fancy us to win 1-0 tonight

My last trip to Rochdale was 92/93 season. Lost 2-0. Only highlight I remember is Paul Haylock being referred to as Mr Blobby (by Shrewsbury fans).

I’d like to see a 4231 tonight but only because I feel Williams is due a break and this formation gets all eleven players in their strongest position. I’m really keen to see Daniels given a license in an attacking area. There’s a case for Edwards to start but for who in the below team I’m not sure.
Sarkic
Sears Pennington Ebanks-Landell Ogbeta
Vela Goss
Daniels Chapman Whalley
Main
Burgoyne, Williams, Pyke, Edwards, Udoh, Walker, Davis

Torn between watching the fabulous 'Your Honour' on Sky or the match....I know that's cynical but our record against teams desperate for a win have been nothing short of abysmal. Bristol Rovers a 2 weeks ago as a prime example.
Also still haunted by that Doncaster game under Simpson, we were playing officially the worst form side in the 92 by some distance and still somehow lost 2-0.

Doncaster at their old ground in the 90s was one of the worst. You mean under King when they were bottom of the league and even the next best team had at least double their points? And they beat us and made us look completely rubbish. Yep I remember it.

Shame it is this particular fixture where a steadying draw would actually be an acceptable result, as only a month ago it might have been expected that we would improve our terrible away record against them. Let's see.

I wasn't there but wasn't there a story about us having an on loan goal keeper who was getting heckled by our fans and he admitted we were s**t and he was looking forward to going back? Looking back, the signs were there on the first game of the season when we beat them 2 1 and then every other team smashed them. Just checked, they lost 8 nil the week before us and then 5 1 the week after

I expect the lads may have received a private talking to after the lifeless performances in the last three games. Let's put that form and the historical record to bed and break the 40 point barrier tonight.
