I was going to say it would be good to get a win so we don't let the season fizzle out but then realised that ship has already sailed. 7 defeats in the last 10 games, the players really haven't helped themselves with earning any contracts for next season Let's get this season over and done with. I have been disappointed with our performances in the last few months. We may have been safe once we hit the magical 50 point mark and therefore had nothing to play for (not that I agree with that thought) but these are still professional players who are getting paid to perform, irrespective of whether or not they will be with us come the start of next season. If some them have switched off, been coasting along ready for their holidays then they can go, find another club, we can and will do better.

It comes to 12 if I include EEL, who is probably safe as he has one more year left on his contract. Pyke for some unaccountable reason was given a 3 year contract by SR, so will probably have to go out on loan.

I doubt we'll be signing four new forwards so, with Udoh and Main almost certainly elsewhere, we might as well keep Pyke and hope that he comes good (or at least better).

It's been a while since I've bothered with iFollow and I doubt I'll return for this last home match with nothing on it and our recent results terrible. That's not meant as a criticism though - Cotterill, Wilbraham, Longwell and the players deserve great credit for such a turnaround in extreme circumstances and for ensuring our survival with games to spare.
I'll be watching out for Rotherham's game with Luton tonight. I really hope the Millers stay up. That's not because I like them - far from it, really can't stand 'em - but because I'm bored with their yoyo-ing between League 1 and the Championship and would much rather see Sheffield Wednesday and Derby playing in our league next season.

One for the radio for me. Be nice to see some different teams play here next season.

I’d like to Sheffield Wednesday with us as I’ve not been there and it’s so near to me now.
I’ll watch tonight as it will be a long time until August and I like to check my seat is still there!

Me too. I can't abide Rotherham (for obvious reasons) so would like to see Wednesday and Derby at the Meadow next season. Tonight, I'd go for an attacking line up - keep Bloxham and play Whalley as a natural right winger and see if he can be get some aerial service. And yes, push Ogbeta to play higher up, more like Ryan Giles did when he was with us. Sign off the last home game with a decent win.

Derby play Sheffield Wednesday in the last game of the season. My brother & nephew (Derby season ticket holders) can't wait - they even told me last night they're hoping Rotherham win to put them out of their misery! My brother pointed out that Derby could theoretically still finish bottom, with even Wycombe passing them. It's been that bad. I see they're the lowest scorers in the Championship and, since the end of February, they've won 5 points from 39.

True, they don't seem to blame him at all. I think their view is he over a squad already struggling under Philip Cocu (and their scoring record was even worse than it is now) and the club has got itself into an almighty mess with the botched sale. As 32Red were apparently covering the cost of Rooney's contract, via whatever creative accounting mechanism, he's not cast in a negative light from that angle either. I should think Derby, with such good home support numbers, will have taken a very heavy hit from lockdown and their squad won't be the cheapest.

Half hour and we have created nothing at all against an average Ipswich team.

awful defending
both stood and watched
and harry, might look like a save but its pathetic, its an open handed splat
their keeper just managed to push away a decent shot just by using his upper arm

Not much to report at half time other than that Ipswich are an absolute bang average league one side.

Quite good all things considered, that. Doesn't seem like there's many bothering by the looks of the thread - fair enough tbh.

And we're below average.
We've been appalling in the final third despite working some decent positions.

Ipswich main game plan, get it down the right wing, stroll into the box unchallenged
