Had the Oxford AZ vaccine today in Chirk. Being the ripe old age of 45 I'm very happy to have had the jab as I thought it would be nearer to May. I've probably benefitted from being registered at a Welsh doctors surgery despite living in Shropshire. Hats off to the volunteers there today ensuring everything ran with clockwork precision. No 15 minute wait after for me though, straight off home to England😀

Astra Zeneca today in Newtown. Slick operation. Had to wait 15 minutes afterwards in the hall. Me too. Lifesaving Poundland jab from Fire Officer in a room I've only ever played 5 a side in before. Wonderful.

Are you healthy 40 somethings getting the jab because of your professions? Or are parts of the country onto that age group now?

Strictly speaking, they will be offered a booster jab. It's going to be like the annual flu jab, there might even be developments to combine them. We will have to see where this goes with care workers.

For me it seems that my doctors surgery, in Wales, had set up as a vaccination hub this week and were flying through the vaccines. So definitely regional variations in my case. Touch wood, two days on now and zero side affects to report as well🙂

Sadly, an unexpected "side effect" of getting the jab.

Jesus, that is such a sad and ironic read. Going to have a jab that will hopefully give you some more years of your life and you fall and die just before you get it. 🥺

Going to have a jab that will hopefully give you some more years of your life and you fall and die just before you get it. 🥺 Poor lady had had a few falls in the preceeding days, so could have happened anywhere, I am glad that no one else slipped over when it was icy after they had removed the rubber mats after her fall. RIP, so sad for the husband, I know how much of a wrench that can be - my uncle lasted six weeks once the love of his life had departed.

she fell over a mat that was there to stop people falling, you couldn't make it up, trying to remember if she is one of my regular customers or not, I dont think so, but its always sad when I spot a pile of 'cards' for an address that continues for a few days, I just play it by ear now, I learnt from my mistake years ago, asking someone if it was their birthday "no my mum died"

The Bowling Centre in Shrewsbury is closing on Thursday until 22nd April. No shortage of vaccine. Shortage of patients til the lower age groups are released and the second doses start. Other vaccine centres likely to also close for different periods of time. In one way a triumph that so many of the over fifties have now had it but still very sad that so many other age groups are desperate to get it. The vaccine is there and the centres are well staffed. Very frustrating.

Well the good news is that I got a letter through to say I can book an appointment for my jab. The bad news is I have to myself over to Rugeley in order to have it. But it'll be interesting to see how things go from now. So today, 29th March I'm able to get it sorted in the UK. Lets see when I actually do get it here in Germany.

But for sure parts of Staffs are now starting on those in their 40's.

Case numbers in most of Europe depressing I'm not entirely sure I can to be honest. I think to travel you have to have a good reason to do so, so for the main part business. Although I am reading a fair bit about trips from Germany to the Balearics being OK. And I'd be worried about getting stuck over there if anything were to change in the mean time.

Cant be a better reason than "I'm going to get my jab at a country that is rolling them out at some speed rather than hanging on here where they are just buggering about and getting nowhere". But i guess you might need to be a bit more diplomatic than that 🙂
