That’s shocking. He needs sacking for such a flaunt and disregard of the rules.

Everybody makes mistakes, but oh dear - really bad judgement to do that; just plain stupid to post it online.
I don't think he should be sacked; but he should certainly be fined.

Realise it's tough times for all but if that report is genuine and nearly every member of staff has got COVID that is some seriously big breach, have to ask questions about the club's protocols if that's happened. How hard can it be to check the temperature of players on arrival (we do this at work) or ensure that the players actually follow the rules (golbourne?!)

Not sure how you can blame/ask questions of the club, the statement yesterday said the club had acted responsibiliy and followed all protocols. And as for for a player doing something like this, they cant monitor them 24/7, this is down to the selfishness/stupidness of individuals, they are adults, they shouldnt need their employer reminding them not to have gatherings like this. As for temperatures, I know they were checking this as I've seen pictures/video's of players turning up to training and having checks done. But if players are asymptomatic then Im assuming a check wouldn't pick this up anyway I saw this last night and said I'm not sure what is more stupid, the gathering or the fact he posted it online.

Don't think you can blame the club. They are following guidelines. If the players don't follow the law in their locality that isn't the club's fault. Temperature testing is also going to pick up a small amount of people who may be positive. It isn't a catch all and tbh if someone did have a temp one day it is probably too late if they have been around the same people day in day out. Golbourne is living in tier 3 in Birmingham at the time. To meet up is negligible, to post it on social media to 5k followers is utterly stupid

He can expect a large fine.
It's a works " do" by the look of it, pretty stupid. There may have been different rules for meeting up in the work environment, but works " do's" should have been off the agenda - too many firms wanted to thank their staff for working through the difficult times, but that can wait until times are better.
Lewis Cox, how are you going to handle this one? Pick it up and run with it, or protect the club?

Didn’t tier three equal meeting up in no more than six? It certainly did up here. He’s wrong on all counts literally - he can’t count to six. To post on line shows a certain arrogance that cannot be acceptable. If the outbreak at the club is due to him - and we will never know - his night out has cost the club a fortune. Unforgivable. Let alone all the others in the photo also breaking the law. None of them social distancing.
As someone who hasn’t been able to attend a match since March because of being in a higher tier, I am not at all happy.

Harsh to punish the club if the cause is individual breaches but I’m sat here thinking I donated season ticket money to the club last year, I brought one this year out of loyalty and wanting to help them through a difficult time, and it stings that the staff, who all represent the club, aren’t doing everything they can to eradicate the virus and get back to normality. It makes me want to request a refund.

Its not a good look that is it. But he talks of testing times and what has been achieved as a company, I'm pretty sure there is some rules regarding businesses and meetings? Maybe up to 30 people or something? I dunno. But come what may, considering the problems we have currently that doesn't look good at all.

I would think that being a footballer, when he got to six, he just started from one again. Personally, I would ban all contact sports for two weeks. Lives are more important than chasing a bag of wind around a field.

Odds on that the club come out and say hes not the cause... Well odds on the actually dont say anything but either way this is bloody stupid and worthy of condemnation from the club.. Whats worse - James Collins p**sing in a bottle or this? Because when the James Collins thing happened the club went in HARD on a player www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2016/march/club-statement2/Will it happen this time?

Brains in their feet obviously. That made me chuckle as it reminds me when my dad talks about footballers doing daft things, he'd point to his head and then his feet with a "long way between here and there Dave"...

I do think we ought to wait before making judgement. He talks about "company" and it might well be related to work and for sure I don't think there is anything to stop players having other business interests. It might be irresponsible and what have you but when talking about seeing people getting sacked it might be worth first waiting to see if he is doing what he is doing within the guidelines (or as they were then).

His Linked in entry is " Scott Golbourne Professional Footballer, Property Investor/Director GW Properties"
All ok there, meeting up for business sort of ok, meeting up for a business "jolly" to treat your hard working staff with seemingly no regard to ppe or social distancing - stupid!

And if he did bring the virus in to ‘our’ club it’s worse than stupid. I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for people who deliberately break the guidelines and no words for idiots who then post it on social media. Thick doesn’t even begin to describe it.
