I also think people should watch ‘12 Angry Men’ before judging people are guilty just based on a few images. Great film!

Good statement. I for one have no further questions. 1 further question my lord, for the sake of the jury ask yourself this, why didnt the club take the simple opportunity to announce mr golbourne didnt even have covid and therefore couldnt possibly be the cause of the outbreak ? no further questions

Great film! good film yeah, i even used to love a 70s tv show called crown court, and i also remember a radio show, cant remember the name but they played out a court case and gave a panel the opportunity to be jury before announcing the actual verdict i once visited the court at the shirehall and sat in the public gallery on a random case, i enjoyed it but couldnt handle the eyes on me, i got the feeling the prosecution all presumed i was a friend or relative of the accused and vice versa , i remember spotting a glaring contradiction in the policemans evidence, i really wanted to shout objection and point it out

Let’s hope the club have all their ducks in a row,or it might come back to bite them if the Grimsby case is anything to go by .

Are the results in yet? Is it Tuesday's and Thursday's?
Is it safe to assume that no new news is good news.

The first case was a Shropshire farmer accused of having ‘relations’ with sheep. What a cliché. That’s why I’ve never been offended by opposition supporters chanting ‘sheep shaggers ’ at us. I’ve also been called 3 times for jury duty, I don’t know anyone else who has done it. It’s supposed to be random, funny I’ve never won on the lottery.

There was a good indication of that soon after the draw with the reports that the Saints game against Leeds could be moved. I think they are trying their best to get this fixture played. And that's one part of the puzzle. The other is that we need to have some sort of clean bill of health, we need the players available to fulfil the fixture. And that will be down to the results of the testing. I just hope that no news is indeed good news (and we are starting to see a decline in those testing positive).

I'm sure the club have been all over the isolations this time, so hopefully even if some new cases do arise they're confident we can put a team out, even if it's a mix and match team, and even if it's just to get the game played and to take the cash at stake (and to potentially avoid a fine).

Fingers crossed. I was just wondering whether anyone had heard anything or when we might do. Considering the problems we are currently facing I thought the club would be looking to update us with the latest and I'm pretty sure the tests are Tuesdays and Thursdays (but I'm not 100% sure about that)...👍

Is that right that we seem to have had the most widespread case of covid? I wonder if the fact that the Southampton v Leeds game is due to be televised will make a difference?

I did Law O level at Shrewsbury Tech and as part of the course we spent the afternoon at the Shirehall Crown Court c1980 ... it's all a bit vague but I think it was a fraud case.
I've been called for Jury Service twice, once at Shrewsbury just after I'd moved to London so managed to wriggle out of it. Second time was about 15 years ago and I did a 2 week stint at Luton Crown Court.

From yesterdays testing performed by the EFL (I think from yesterday anyhow)...
The EFL can confirm that an additional 531 players and Club staff from six EFL Clubs were tested as part of last week’s mandatory testing programme, with a further 11 positive cases returned.
The figures mean that in total, 4038 players and Club staff were tested over the period of Monday 4 to Sunday 10 January, with 123 individuals testing positive. This included 31 EFL Clubs returning zero positive tests.
Just feel it would have to diverge a fair bit from that before they would think of a break of any sort.

When I lived in Oldham I was called twice in 6 years to attend Manchester Crown Court and my wife was also called once. My wife was a full time carer at the time so was able to be excused. On my first duty I ended up on just one jury in the first week, by the second week I wasn't needed. The same happened second time around.

As I recall I think the last time we were due to play on the Saturday there was another game being televised, perhaps the Manchester game? And that was also on BT Sport. We were relegated to BT Sport 3 I think. Perhaps if we do go ahead and play the game we'll have a little more of the limelight this time around. I think that's a good thing anyhow.

All Premier League games are televised whenever they are played, so couldn’t make any difference. Big problem is the winners having Arsenal in the next round, who have no or very few free weeks left in the season. Playing it next week was probably our last chance

I personally can't see how we can have a national lockdown but elite sport is allowed to continue. There are more people involved in getting 22 players onto a football pitch than just the players and many of those are not at the same levels of fitness as professional sportsmen. I hope Roland doesn't get it in his advanced years. Just shut it down for three weeks, play into June, start in September not August and let the vaccine kick in. I really don't see how this is so difficult to arrange. The most important thing is get the virus under control. its all about money we could argue pro footballers are key workers providing a service. ( ok they are not doctors saving lives but its pretty bleak when sport has to stop ) as for Roland, theres nothing he cant do from home like hes been advised to Brian said Tomorrow/Thursday they are out of isolation. About 1.30 in.
