By all accounts it sounds like Foakes is utterly riddled with all manner of exotic and contagious diseases.

Leach and Potts bowling incredibly well
Held up by Mitchell and Blundell yet again, running through them now
Lead 274, could be a tough chase on a pitch doing things

Listened to TMS on headphones today whilst watching an excellent day's cricket at Worcester. Catching two birds with one stone so to speak. We should win this Test now, so looking forward to going to Edgbaston to see how we fare against the Indians. 😎🏏

Firstly what a sensational and enjoyable test series that was. It won’t always go that well but what a treat to watch, let’s hope the Indians don’t know what hit them.
Secondly well done Sam Curran on his maiden first class century for Surrey yesterday. Very surprised Inspector Swan hasn’t posted about such an occasion.
Thirdly, such a bittersweet day with Eoin Morgan announcing his retirement. Definitely the right time, but should go down as one of England cricket’s greatest ever captains.

Eoin Morgan has been an inspirational ODI Captain.

Nicely poised at New Road, hopefully Worcester can grab the last 4.

Nicely poised at New Road, hopefully Worcester can grab the last 4. Alas they didn't. Never should have given Glamorgan a chance. A 2nd innings of 199 was poor when they should have been setting them 400+.

Very poor from the Pears. Glams should never have been allowed to chase down 330+ on that wkt. Good job Derbyshire cocked it up 🤗.

I'm afraid that was inevitable. Moeen won't be signing for Worcs either.

He is, and in his T20 matches for Worcs this year he's looked thoroughly disinterested. He's supposed to be considering playing red ball cricket for England again. That being the case, it was very poor on his part not to make himself available to play in the latest Championship game against Glamorgan, preferring instead to sit in the TMS commentary box. The next England ODI isn't until July 7th, he's been told by the ECB that if he is serious about returning to red ball cricket that he'll need to get in some games, so I can't see the ECB preventing him from playing in the Glamorgan game. He's been a good servant to Worcs in the past, but nowadays I can't see much point in him staying as we hardly ever see him. He might as well join his mate Barnard at the Bears.

I don't think that he should be fast tracked into the test team, that sends out the wrong message to those who are actually performing in the County Championship. He can't have it all ways.

I was at Worc for the Glams game & quite a few around me were somewhat disgruntled that he was in the TMS box rather than playing for us. A great servant to WCCC but maybe it's best he moves on now, especially in that he rarely plays for the Pears nowadays.

Confusion reigned at Edgbaston yesterday with the new 'App ticket system', and stewards didn't seem to know which entry people were supposed to go through to get to their blocks. Hence lots of empty seats for the start of play. Let's hope it's improved for the rest of the days. We managed to get in just as the players came out. Good fightback by India, and Pant & Jadeja were both excellent. England lacked another bowler, and Stokes seems very reluctant to bowl himself. Broad & Stokes just gave runs away bowling short all the time. Could be a good game if the weather doesn't intervene

I'm still trying to fathom out what Broad and England were trying to do, brain freeze or what ☹

Stupid to continuously bowl short to try and get wickets, but I would think that the captain & coach also agree to doing it.

Surely Crawley now has to be replaced?
Lees hasn't cemented his position either, whilst Pope plays too loosely for a Number 3.

India have been playing a positive brand of cricket for four years, not four weeks. There is a texture and a depth to them, a team that can accommodate both the dash of Shubman Gill and the circumspection of Cheteshwar Pujara, that can absorb the loss of a captain and vice-captain and not feel materially weakened. They can sit in and take the game deep, or they can take it away from you in a session. They can mesmerise an opponent with spin or blow them away with pace. They can play all games in all conditions. Above all they feel no need to reaffirm their identity or remind anyone of their job.
Daily Telegraph.
