Ben Stokes now added to England Ashes squad.
They leave here on the 4th Nov, and first Test starts 8th Dec. Therefore I would imagine (even though parts of Oz are still closed) that there will be a few warm up matches prior to 8th Dec allowing him - and maybe a few more - to get match fit !!
It's not going to be easy for him to walk straight back into Test cricket without being fit. Especially with temperatures in the mid thirties plus.

After doing so well to qualify for the super 12s, Scotland were well and truly brought down to earth with a bump today.
ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Sharjah
Afghanistan 190-4 (20 overs): Zadran 59 (34), Gurbaz 46 (37) Scotland 60 (10.2 overs): Mujeeb 5-20, Rashid 4-9
Afghanistan won by 130 runs

Very confusing message being given out here. None of the players are required to take the knee as the SA cricket board have given them other options to show their solidarity and support on this matter. It's a real pity that we don't know the full picture as the BBC headline itself is potentially misleading to the player concerned.

Both England and Scotland playing today in the super 12s.
First up, England vs Bangladesh.

That was a statement from England today for sure. A thumping victory and all without the star man himself, Sam Curran

If we lost to South Africa, we'd still top the group on net run rate, but Australia would almost certainly be out on net run rate, which is significantly worse than South Africa's. Hmmmm.

Around 1995 I attended the Scarborough festival tour game of Yorkshire v W Indies, and the pre-match dinner in honour of the W Indies players. I think it was the Yorkshire President who gave the main speech, which was filled with inappropriate racist stereotypes and “jokes”. Even for those days, it was cringeworthy in the extreme, especially as the guest of honour was the great Wes Hall, their manager, and a man of modesty and integrity.

Northwestman, are you insinuating - I'm saying this - that we 'throw' the game v S.Africa so enabling (possibly) that the Aussies don't go forward to the next stage !!! Shame on you....... but then again !!

Shame on you....... but then again !! Well, not saying that we should throw the game. Just give all our reserves a game, and rest Buttler, with either Bairstow or Billings taking the gloves. Play Livingstone and Ali at 3 and 4 to give them much needed practice. And see how things go.

Australia have just upped their run rate considerably by thrashing Bangladesh.
Our run rate is still enough to finish top even if we lose our last game, but I think we'll now have to rely on West Indies beating Australia for the Aussies to go out of the competition.

The T20 World Cup has passed this board by, so far 😅 Been very low key, even the lover of white ball cricket, Mr Inspector has been unusually quiet.

The holders are out and heading home. Hopefully, they'll make one last effort and turn over Australia.

It seems like the only solution is for the entire board at Yorkshire to resign and a fresh broom appointed to resolve the issues. It’s shocking that the current board thought they could bluster their way out of this problem This could ruin the club financially

Even though it's a few years ago, surely someone at Yorkshire must have realised the true extent of the racism problem and reported it to the top brass. If they chose to turn a blind eye to it then they deserve absolutely everything coming their way. Losing test matches and one dayers will absolutely cripple them and I for one say " good" There are lots of top grounds desperate for big pay days so with the white rose out of the way other counties may pick up the large revenues instead. For a county like Yorkshire with a large Asian population this is a truly appalling episode and I hope the likes of Gary Ballance and anyone else be it a player or member of management or staff are suitably ashamed of their actions.

Yorkshire would throw Headingley's cat under the bus if it meant getting back their Tests, 1 day internationals, the Hundred and their sponsors. I expect Gary Ballance to be sacked.

Scotland well and truly outclassed today.
Pakistan up next for them before they head home.
