Is Devon Conway already, after just two and a half tests, the best test match opener in the world?

More rain forecast for tomorrow ☹
That's a real shame as this final is so well balanced at the moment.

Looks pretty grim all day in Soton. Better news looks like gonna be cloudy but dry tomorrow and full on sunshine on Weds.

So Butler not available for the tests v New Zealand but available for T20. I’m sure there’s a logical explanation but something wrong in my opinion.

I hope Sri Lanka can set a competitive score. Far too one sided last evening. Not looking likely currently! Hopefully they can have a blast and set 150ish. Give the lineup some challenge without buttler and see if they can knock it off

I like the way bumble said Woakes rested as probably stiff from last night.
He only bowled 3 overs and didn’t bat 🤣
Think they may be getting carried away with rotation

Looking interesting despite the low score SL making a fight of it

www.espncricinfo.com/series/vitality-blast-2021-1250122/birmingham-bears-vs-derbyshire-north-group-1250297/match-reportSeveral hundred spectators - mainly students attending as part of a promotion - ran on to the pitch at the end of the match. While there was no sign of any malicious behaviour, the scale of the incursion may cause repercussions for a sport currently making a case for greater crowd numbers at games. Ironically the student event was named 'Invades'. The promotion promised 'free flowing pints' and 'exclusive drinks deals'. It may be worth noting that Selly Oak, just a mile or two down the road and where the University of Birmingham is situated, has seen a rise in Covid cases of almost 800 percent (actually 791.7) over the last week. There had been a succession of streakers throughout the game. While the venue had already shut its bars to the students and attempted to disperse groups who were not observing social distancing. "The atmosphere was horrible," one spectator told ESPNcricinfo. "I have never, in 50 years at the club, been at anything like it. I the club wishes to continue to advertise Edgbaston as a "fortress" and encourage excessive drinking and partying at the expense of appreciation of cricket, I'm out of there. I couldn't agree more with that spectator. This is the reason I never have and never will attend a T20 game. And to think we now have The Hundred coming up.

I've been to domestic T20s in the past until I went to one at Old Trafford one Friday night with my family. Sadly the drunken behaviour of some spectators that evening so spoiled our evening that I decided I would never go again ☹

Sadly the drunken behaviour of some spectators that evening so spoiled our evening that I decided I would never go again ☹ I've been to a number of T20 games, mainly at Edgbaston and always found it a good mixture, yes there's clearly some who are just there for a drunken night out (and if I'm honest, that has been me on the odd occasion) but there's normally a good mixture of people with family/young children and then your more traditional cricket enthusiasts. I'm on a few cricketing websites/groups and its clear there is a divide between some cricketing fans who hate the singing/football style atmosphere and those that are a fan of it. Personally I'm in the latter camp and believe that if you don't like it, cricket grounds are big enough for you to sit in an area that you aren't going to be surrounded by drunkenness/singing.

I agree with this, in particular at Edgbaston where it should commonly be known the Hollies is the ‘party stand’. That said, there’s a final line between football-style partisan support, and those who are just there to get smashed and be a general nuisance, I’d prefer it if they at least had some interest in the game going on!

I don't mind, in fact I like the atmosphere at cricket grounds, especially at T20s. Unfortunately what we encountered at Old Trafford that Friday evening was sadly beyond acceptable. I don't want to go into details but my daughter was visibly shaking even by the time we had got back home. It went too far that evening.

If I'm being critical, England should have posted 200+ but still, a tough target nonetheless fir Sri Lanka to chase.
