Outplayed by the reserve team of an awful league Two side. Wonder how Sam will spin this one. town 55% possession town more shots town more shots on target town more goals ricketts out Question for you Pilch as you want to talk stats. Tonight was a pretty strong team for us whereas Bolton (a team struggling in L2) made 9 changes. We had two more shots than them and one more on target. Can you see why some fans might not be entirely satisfied with the performance?

If you think I'm gonna agree with you about ricketts, and the way we've been playing over the last 12 months, you've got another thing coming.we are all entitled to our opinion, and I'm having mine

That’s impressive , especially when it comes to debating the last 12 months like we were

In all the games played since Rickets arrived, it's been the big cup games Stoke/Wolves/Liverpool where the team have shown their true ability. This suggests to me that the players themselves can get motivated without any help from the management, it seems that Rickets cannot inspire his team to perform for the more mundane league fixtures, perhaps he's not motivated enough himself here at Town to pass on enthusiasm to the players

Can you see why some fans might not be entirely satisfied with the performance? they are probably upset that we won we made 8 changes including a midfielder having to play in defence I make it 8 of the players we started on Saturday, started last night. Yes we moved players around but I believe the only player who played out of position was Walker. And I'll ask again, can you see why some fans are not entirely satisfied with the performance?

Wasting your time trying to have a reasonable conversation or sensible debate with him. It’s embarrassing.

They were poor, we were marginally less poor (over 90 minutes).
First half was entertaining - shame that Cummings halfway line shot didn't creep in under the bar. Brentford lad looked promising, Spurs lad has some skills but quite a way to go - a bit like Arthur.
Last half an hour was dire and I thought we were lucky to see it through - if they were half decent then we'd have been looking at penalties or a straight defeat. They are in the league below and both teams were not at full strength so you cannot read too much into it; but it is certainly not the feel good victory that we were looking for.

There's two things nailed on with this board.
- Pilch backing Ricketts regardless - The usual leftie clan bashing the government regardless.
Fair play they stick to their guns, but everybody has a right to question them.
The football has improved marginally and I think the player quality has. Let's judge after 15 games. We need to get fitter and close out games in the second half.

12 games in will give us some idea of how this team shapes up. we have a number of new players who need to get used to playing for town, we have unfortently been hit by a number of injuries and some are self isolating due to covid-19 ricketts has tried to bring in a more attacking style and you can see that so he has responed to the crtics from last season. what has improved better recycling of the ball we press more we show more attacking intent
four things i feel we need to work on score more goals when we are on top so that we can kill the game off play for the whole game dont sit back when we go ahead the midfield need to control the game more but somtimes that is difficult when we go for too many aimless long balls.

Don't forget than many of us are floating voters ,neither on the left or the right but totally distasfied with the government's handling of the crisis. Importantly it is that group that will determine the result of the next election.

We’re in exactly the same position as the 23 other clubs in the league, better than most as we had money in the bank during lock down and the beginning of the season... Fact is 18 teams have made a better start to the season and only one club a worse start. Your exactly right saying we need to wait 10/12 games for a true picture but there’s no excuse (fitness, injury, Covid, luck.) it’s how you manage recruitment and pre season in readiness for the start. Lots of excuses this year but facts are facts not time to panic but we’ve made a poor start.

I watched the game, and we where able to give game time to some young/new players which is very useful. My concern at the moment is every game so far seems to be the same worrying format. Start well, lose momentum, go too long too often, the front 3 become 1 as we sit back, yet continue with long ball to the channels an lose all attaching threat. Because of this the last 1/3 of the game we look really poor and offer very little. I know injures don't help, but we do the same regardless of who plays or who we play against.
I think if we can change this mindset we have a chance of doing pretty well this season, as I think we have one of the best squads for a long time.

We all know what happened then, don’t we. Final positions are not decided after four games.

We need to get fitter and close out games in the second half. i listened on shropshire for the first half yesterday as i was working, just caught the 2nd half on a dodgy stream as a whole the game sounded quite entertaining, from what i saw i thought the defence was our big issue, especially pierre, i remember having the odd pop at him on saturday, he was amazing last season so it can only be a blip hopefully saying that we started with walker at the back due to injuries and covid etc tracey looked good, cummings got a goal and i missed his cheeky effort but it sounded great, burgoyne seems to have gotton over his nightmares , fossey still looking good especially going forward, this was a mickey mouse cup game that since they started have been on the whole dull boring and a let down, even as i showed our road to wembley wasnt exactly filled with memories, if fact it was dull and the excitment peaked in the first game at coventry whats annoying is the same people moan and at the same time keep moving the goalposts if what they are moaning about is sorted ricketts first seaason he was taking us down, but he never the defence was awful he was a tinkerman with no stability we need to be more attacking we want entertainment we want a win we wanted a bigger win and a few of our biggest moaners, dont even go to games and havent done so for years

So Cummings bagged his 100 goal in 250 appearances last night.
Not a bad ratio.
Where to play him then.
Centrally or wide right.
I prefer centrally.
