Now we move on to thed Premier League relegation weekend: Aston Villa, Watford, Bournemouth - who will go down? Hope Villa stay up, Midlands football has been down for a while, would be good to have Villa, WBA and Wolves derbies. Yes out of those 3 Villa to stay up for me. Bournemouth been punching above their weight for a few years now, bout time they dropped back down to our level where they normally are. And be happy to see Watford go for their ridiculously timed sacking of Pearson. I’m a traditionalist, Villa are an historic club from a big city and should be playing in the top division. To me Bournemouth and Watford are similar clubs to us, indeed they were regular opponents during my formative years.

Nice to see Charlton not quite such a big club as some of their fans think. Welcome back to L1. 😁 Reading the Charlton forum, they are not even sure that they will have a club next season, and if they do, the general feeling is that they will go into administration, lose the bulk of their team and do a Bolton ( rely on youth teamers).

Another club spending above their means i guess then. They obviously thought they were a bigger club than they actually were. Can see a few others being in a similar position over the next few years.

Getting a bit tetchy at Brentford in injury time (3-1). Good way for them to leave Griffin Park if they hold on.
Some spectacular defending from Michael Hector for Fulham at Cardiff in the first leg. Perhaps he'll be another ex-Salop player in the Premier League.

Cracking game to watch as a neutral.
I really want to dislike the ‘new’ Brentford but I can’t really. Always loved a game at Griffin Park against a team that I always thought mirrored us. Until the last few years. I really hope they win the play off final, but I suspect Fulham may just do that.

Brentford are a club that I could never really bring myself to dislike, similarly Leyton Orient. Charlton, Milwall and Fulham however........
Remember going to Brentford in the mid '90s and getting to the ground with about 5 minutes of the first half left. Stopped off in a pub near the ground for a quick one before going in just before the 2nd half kicked off. I think we were already 3-0 up and Walton got sent off at the start of the 2nd half, but we still didn't concede.
Would be great to see them in the top flight in their new stadium next season, shame to see yet another old ground go though.

You only missed 2 goals, 2-0 up at half time (Lynch & Scott) and was full time score. I don’t recall the sending off i always liked Fulham as well as agreeing about Orient and Brentford, loved a trip to the Cottage
