It was an awful game of football but the result was all that mattered. I've watched it back several times on DVD and even knowing the outcome doesnt make the game look any better.
I remember it was stifling hot that day, very different to todays weather.

Surely an 8-1 aggregate defeat must be the worst loss ever suffered in the play-offs - I cant remember anything that even comes close to that. You are probably right 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Agreed. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be next seasons Lincoln, Stevenage, Orient or Northampton without risking our long term stability. That is correct, it will take a relatively small improvement to get to where they were the season just finished. However it would also be only a small drop from where we finished to also become next seasons Cheltenham, Fleetwood or Vale. Fine margins, let's just hope PH can improve us rather than going the other way.

6 weeks of hard work before the new season starts. Good, work them hard Paul & Chris. Let's just hope the majority of the new squad are signed on by then.

No pre season jolly in the Spanish sunshine, looks like lots of hard running up Haughmond.
When are the pre season games being anounced if they are already set up?

I’ll miss Marosi’s shot stopping but definitely not his kicking!!! The reaction to Marosi going is interesting, people don't seem that bothered and the view is a decent goalkeeper isn't too hard to find. But how many times last season did he got MOM and/or make crucial saves to earn us points? Over the season, I suspect his saves earnt us more points than Udoh's goals but it will be the latter that fans will be most disappointed to see leave I'd say it will be much easier to find a decent replacement for Marosi than it will be to find a decent replacement for Udoh. On our budget for sure.

I watched dunks and Pierre play together against Cambridge.. ...both good in the air.....but torn apart on the ground, against the speedy Cambridge forwards.....so if Pierre stops, and plays,we need a quicker centre half by the side of him....imho Feeney? Sraha?

Pretty much as I expected when it was first anounced. Higher earners wont be signing, the 2 lower earners likely will (1 has already).

Sounds too injury prone these days. Last thing we need is injury prone players this coming season, look what last seasons crop did to the team. Twas my understanding he's (only) missed last season or so? As opposed to several games out here and there. Perhaps my blue and amber tinted specs are on too much, I just quite like the idea It's all hypothetical of course. *****edit***** Looking at games played, the first 2 seasons were around 30 games Then 3 the following sesson, and 14 the season just ended, so one would assume serious injury early on the previous season into the one just ended....resulting in him bsck around Christmas gone Think the injury prone player we already have is likely to be first in line for a midfield place. Still got a lot to do to convince me he will be worth the gamble though.

3 wishes. MK Dons to be relegated to the National League. 'Dons' to be removed from their name. Winkelman to leave. Any order! Just spotted your glaring error on point 1 - MK Don's to get relegated FROM the National League 👍

Who would be the right person to get in touch with, would it be Liam or the programme editor or someone else?

We had income streams from player sales and sell ons like Connor Goldson moving to Rangers in 2018… Remember Brian saying 20/21 was the first year we hadn’t got staggered transfere payments coming through. 🤥 hurst was at Ipswich when goldson joined rangers Its amazing how desperate some are to claim we failed in by far our best season in decades 😝 Goldson had also left Town in 2015 to join Brighton so wasnt with us when Hurst was. He left Brighton in 2018 to go to Rangers.

Does anyone actually watch this unadulterated garbage these days? Apparently yes. The UK lap it up more than any other European country. Well the UK TV viewing population have plenty of crap TV to rival it, so they are used to watching rubbish.

Yep ...free transfers, academy players, and a punt on one or two bargains....that's what Hurst will be doing....and getting them fit!!! Thinking back to the 3rd placed finish season under Hurst can anybody recall how that seasons playing budget compered with previous seasons? Looking back on it a side with Godfrey, Morris and Henderson, alongside Nsiala, Nolan, Whalley and Rodman you would think it was quite an expensively assembled team, but I don't recall that really being the case at the time, and the accounts that year showed it wasn't a case of "splashing the cash" that led to the high league finish. I'm hoping that we can do something similar this season and get a couple of loan players in from a higher level who we give game time and experience too and get the benefits of for a season, and go onto bigger and better things. I guess its a case of higher league teams wanting to be sure we have decent set-up and opportunities for their players, which Hurst might provide I would think it would be quite a modest outlay tbh. Godfrey, Morris Henderson were all young and unknown back then so wouldnt be on a fortune. Nsiala, Nolan, Rodman and Whalley were all just journeyman that Hurst improved so wouldnt have been on big wages either.

Me too. I don’t think it’s lovely for Crawley fans. We know how much we remember that night and it’s something they can never forget. I think its lovely for MK fans (once again).

During our glory days in the old 2nd division I was out of the country most of the 10 years but did take in the odd game when home. Genuine question did those years bring us near breaking point or were we managed financially well. We did have some high earners I am lead to believe. . I don’t recall any financial pressure during that period though we had some good cup runs with tv money and big crowds. That first season in what is now the Championship we averaged over 9,000. Think the financial pressure started to build with Ian MacNeil and the team he started to build. A few of them wouldnt have come cheaply even though they were past their best. Probably continued with John Bond. By the time Roland took over we were well and truly running at a huge loss and cost cutting measures had to be implemented with Jake King having nothing at all to spend and ultimately losing our FL place for a season. Thankfully there were several youngsters coming through which gained us some money and of course the 2003 cup run against Everton and Chelsea.

Stephen Humphrey’s been released by Wigan. Wouldn’t mind seeing him in blue and amber again. Another play well out of our reach …. Sensible suggestions please folks 😁 I doubt anyone will have heard of our strikers that we start the season with (unless Udoh has a change of heart). Will be up and coming youngsters with potential from a Premier or Championship club that we havnt heard of, bit like Carlton Morris. As long as it's not players we havnt heard of from LOI it will do for me.

If anyone mentions the words "play offs" in conjunction with Town i very quickly move my thoughts to that night in Mk. Every time, I'm sure Crawley fans will too in years to come.

Second trip to Wembley in a week for Solihull Moors today in the Trophy Final.
Same result as last week, draw after 120 mins but once again lost on penalties. Joss Labadie missed his spot kick in both games.
Never mind Solihull, wait till you've been there 5 times and the team not turned up on the pitch .....
