One player we let go for nothing and he went on to get a good fee 6 months later for Luton was Dave Edwards Whatever happened to him? He was a decent player(when he was younger). "As he was under 24, Shrewsbury commanded a compensation fee to cover his youth development. The eventual fee was agreed at a tribunal, but clubs reported differing figures; Luton claiming it was £250,000,[11] with Shrewsbury reporting £250,000 as the initial payment, plus a further £150,000 based on appearances.[12][13]"

First thoughts on Fejiri going are of disappointment, he is raw and by no means the finished article but last season showed he can score goals at this level. He hasn't looked great this season when he has played but the formation/style of football we play doesn't suit him and not many strikers would look good in the set up. A move is for the best thing for him and I hope he goes and proves us wrong.
But on the other hand, I will laugh at the people who will saying its a disgrace and berate Ricketts for this and yet have moaned about Fejiri in his few appearances this season, it's so predicable.

We're not playing a system that suits him. That said, maybe Ricketts doesn't fancy him. He scored 14 in a poor side, i think we know he can finish. That said, i think Lang & Cummings have shown they can be better and Udoh is like for like with more graft. A move that suits all by the looks, shame in hindsight we didn't cash in last January although a couple of his goals arguably may have won us points that kept us up, i've not checked.

True, but one shot in two games proves Fejiri was not the problem.

I dont even think Fey got that much negativity this season. Most feel sorry for him and that he never got a chance under SR this season all that much in a team that was not set up for him.
Accrington away him and Udoh as a two won us the game, then hes never seemingly wanted to try that gun ho attitude Fey thrives in.

There's one thing which would improve this team and that's a new manager.

Think its all about the different systems clubs play. He didnt suit the SR system just as Eisa didnt. He may well become a good player in the right system as indeed Eisa has. Eisa has? Seven goals in 34 games in League 2. OK.

Luton went Bust very shortly after though, bet we never saw all that money The fee as a result of any tribunal has to be paid immediately. The £250,000 would have come directly to Shrewsbury. If there was a sell on clause we would have received a proportion of the £675,000 Wolves transfer. Luton did not actually go bust unlike Bury, Hereford etc etc

Okenabirhie proved he's a good finisher last season but he's been a complete disappointment this season. It's all well and good saying the system doesn't suit him but you don't change your system to suit one player and he needs to be more adaptable. Lang showed on Saturday that you can play well and be effective without scoring. Unfortunately, Okenabirhie couldn't hold the ball played to his feet, couldn't win a header, couldn't beat a man and has looked ponderous this season. Lang & Cummings seem more skilful and Udoh looks quicker and stronger so it's no surprise he's dropped to 4th. I'm sure he can do well somewhere else but I think getting a decent fee for him would make sense for us.

Its not that the system doesnt suit FO, its the system that doesnt work and thats why the strikers struggle to score goals and its all well and good saying that Lang &Cummings are better but how many goals they have scored and why we are still the second lowest scoring team

Oh please. " The system doesn't suit him 😴" ,,When you have a leading goal scorer on 3 who apparently isn't fit enough (yeah right) and you create next to nothing what system would suit anyone who's profession is to score goals. I dread to think of the formation if we play Liverpool. I can just see Lineker and Shearer thinking a 5-5-0. Blimey. That's a first...

I reckon it will be 11 stretched along the goal line.

I’d like to see us blow all the money we’ve earnt from the fa cup 4th round, the prize money from beating Bristol, the tv money from the Liverpool game, blow it all on Docherty We can’t of been planning to have this money, it’s a bonus, so let’s go for it

RW has already been quoted as saying money will give club chance of breaking even this season. THIS - the FA Cup revenue will mean the club ‘break even’...and more importantly, we won’t have t9 sell our prized assets of Norburn, Laurent and Pierre. We’ve freed up money in the terms of wages by terminating loans and getting Grant off our hands - expect movement over the next week or so...the draw of the FA Cup tie vs Liverpool will attract any players who aren’t cup tied (possible loan to permanent move for a certain Glasgow based midfielder) Saying that, the introduction of Whalley & Lang was instrumental last night, and Cummings’ late cameo has a huge impact in the build up to Big Aaron’s goal. Maybe we aren’t exactly 100 miles from the completed article, Ricketts just needs to let the players throw off the shackles and play every game like they did last night.

I assume you will be there to get behind the the town and tell him what team and tactics to play? As he clearly got it wrong in the 2 games against Bristol City didn't he, and in quite a few other games that you tend to bypass. Another "wannabe coach" that I pray I'm not sitting next to on the day, as I prefer my club to be run by professionals with some credit to their name for what they are trying to achieve.

You should read everything I put on here. I clearly stated BEFORE the Bristol city game that the 'over my dead body' attitude was fine in a game like this ? When you're playing against 'generally' better players you will naturally get a few more chances. Our problem has been against teams that dig their heels in. Hence us being the lowest scorers in the league. Hopefully last night will give them a touch more confidence going forward especially now Lang and Udoh are getting back to fitness.

I'll give the first line a miss if you don't mind. Not sure how playing against better players will create more chances? Should have a hat full against Liverpool then shouldn't we!!! I have no answer to why we are not scoring goals apart from maybe the opposition defenders are better than our attackers, but I'm no expert.

It's been a strange window for us. Hardly any rumours of incoming players, TWOTS, or anything remotely credible so far.

There's one thing which would improve this team and that's a new manager. Seems a shame for a great poster to carry on saying "change the manager" when it isn't going to happen. Anything constructive you can think of that will help our manager and players do a "3rd round FA cup" every match?
