Not much sign of a wicket here. Something wrong with Anderson too.

Wasn't expecting that at tea!
Well done England. Stokes in particular.
Anderson breaking down yet again is a source of concern though. Presumably Archer will be brought in for the next game.

A much needed and morale boosting win for England. I'm concerned about Jimmy Anderson though. He was really struggling today.

"It's why five day cricket should always be around. It's the best form of the game" ………. Ben Stokes after the match. Are you listening ECB ? You may be, but will you take notice of what the players and fans think Probably not as you don't see a great game that true cricket fans love, all you see is money. I am off out there in a few days time so really looking forward to the 3rd Test. COME ON ENGLAND.

Thanks 'king of the wild frontier'. If the game finishes early there are all sorts of wonderful things to do in SA. Although to be honest the beer is not the best !! Having said that we usually manage to find an Irish bar somewhere for a pint of the 'black stuff'. After 55 years of slogging my guts out I am happy that I have now saved enough to go on these tours every coupe of years. Hard work really does bring it's rewards in the long run. If we win in PE I will raise a glass to you.

We always have a great time irrespective of the results, and here's hoping for a series win...… even without our Jimmy.

Joe Root is the latest illness worry ahead of the 3rd test starting later next week. England have certainly been unlucky with illness and injuries on this tour.

Root back in training today along with Archer and Wood, Archer still not 100% fit so Woakes could replace Anderson.

I just hope that they don't over bowl him. Short sharp spells is when he's at his best.

England 61-0 at lunch
Andy Zaltzman @zaltzcricket
England 61-0 off 26 overs. This is England's longest 1st-innings opening partnership in 58 Tests, since October 2015.
This is also, at 27 overs, the longest 1st-innings opening stand for England when batting first in a Test since Cook and Strauss added 196 in 47.5 against Australia at Lord's in 2009.

An interesting interview with Moeen Ali. I would loved to be proved wrong but I don't think that he will ever play test cricket for England again. England did expect too much of him at times which didn't help him in the long run.

Rabada banned for the 4th test for a penalty incurred when celebrating getting Root out yesterday.
