So the Police have been called to his house, wether it was a " domestic" or not, it probably was a "Row", added to the personal attacks from his rival Hunt, and the baiting from the media about him not at this point agreeing to a TV debate, his silence has given him dignity, some might think arrogance, but I think he so far has handled it well by staying in neutral. Trump has had to take this kind of thing, yet he continues to be popular from his followers, as to the campaign, I think he will win.
The media until last week were pushing Javid/Rory Stewart etc, but not Boris, now its Hunt in the limelight, I wonder why.......incoming !!!

Brilliant , absolutely brilliant . I wonder what the odds are on him winning the seat . The Tory Party at their best . I can see Gove winning the race for the main prize , he’s been rejected once but that means bugger all , this lot make up the rules as they go along .

The Labour Party kicked out the Peterborough woman for breaking the law but the good old Tories do **** all. I would argue that his crime is worse by defrauding you and I, the taxpayer.

How can BoJo seriously be the front runner for a job representing this country when he refuses to speak to the press ?

I don't think the press are in charge of choosing the pm. Johnson and Hunt are doing a lot of Conservative members meet ups in the next few weeks, plenty of opportunity for questioning.

Yes, and as I fear that those members have about the same ability to assess candidates as those in Brecon and Radnorshire, then Boris is a stone cold certainty. One of the most famous and insightful lines Donald Trump offered on the campaign trail in 2016 came during a stop in Iowa, shortly before that state’s caucuses. “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn’t lose any voters, okay?” Trump said, mimicking firing a gun with his fingers. “It’s, like, incredible.” It was a comment about the robustness of his base of support, and it repeatedly has been demonstrated to be true. Indeed, Trump could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and few of his voters would consider the ensuing murder trial legitimate. Unfortunately, the same applies to Johnson, otherwise the raft of evidence against him would have destroyed his chances long ago.

Hunts a full on murdoch boy. Unsuprising to see the times and sky going full bore after Boris. Interesting to see the mail now joining the party.
I love the smell of tory self immolation in the morning.

I don't think the press are in charge of choosing the pm. Johnson and Hunt are doing a lot of Conservative members meet ups in the next few weeks, plenty of opportunity for questioning. Plenty of Tories, like John Griffin, think that’s simply not good enough. Neither, for that matter, does Jeremy Hunt. Tory members might be the immediate electorate but the winner of this election becomes Prime Minister, not just another party leader. It’s a complete abdication of responsibility, and perhaps a demonstration of cowardice, to hide away from the wider public at such a crucial time. I don’t much care who wins but Tory members need to think seriously about whether the impression they’re currently giving, of a smug party thinking it can ignore the vast majority of the country when it’s polling below 20%, is really how they want to go forward from here.

Unfortunately, the same applies to Johnson, otherwise the raft of evidence against him would have destroyed his chances long ago. So true. Johnson supporters can whine about lefties and remoaners as much as they like but there are many fiercely critical Tories too. It’s not a question of them simply preferring Hunt, they’re saying Johnson is unfit for the office. Read what Max Hastings says about him in the piece linked by stfcfan87. Hastings is a Tory and was his boss as editor of the Telegraph for heaven’s sake. He says Johnson wouldn’t know truth in an identity parade and that almost the only people who like Johnson don’t know him. Simon Kuper’s piece in the FT is a superb analysis of the 1980s public school and Oxford graduates who have dominated the Tory party (Johnson, Hunt, Gove, May, Cameron, Osborne etc). It’s unbelievable that anyone can think this elite (as Gove himself described them) is on the side of the person in the street.

Boris didn't. Johnson seems to have taken a leaf from the Theresa May book of campaigning. He seems to have done a disappearing act. I guess at the moment though he doesn't really need to speak to the rest of the country because at this juncture, its not them that he needs to reach out to. Whether that will hurt him in the leadership bid and if successful, in the future...remains to be seen. But I think its clear why he is avoiding Hunt if that Birmingham hustings event is anything to go by...because Hunt looked and came across way, way better in that event. Johnson was never a shoe in and it remains the case now. Hunt is coming across way better.

whatever happens the conservaties better prepare for time in opposition All part of the plan, isn't it? Smash the place to bits, leave a few booby traps and then hide out in opposition whilst the heat dies down, remembering to chuck a few stones from the sidelines whilst someone else tries to clear up the mess. Johnson is just a fall guy. By the way, on the subject of his privacy, the more this saga goes on the more it seems a bit too perfect. A cynic would suggest he does this reliably enough for a disgruntled neighbour to have waited for the petfect moment to call the police and press, safe in the knowledge of a guaranteed row after BoJo had his usual fill of Friday night wine.

I hear that Nick Ferrari asked BJ when “ that “ picture was taken. Of course BJ refused to answer even when NF challenged him . NF said it was very obviously an old photo what with the length of BJ’s hair . Looks like once again Johnson has been caught out . Oh well , forward to oblivion .

Johnson has today outlined a few policy ideas including cutting crime, more funding for education, tax changes for all, better communication network and of course delivering on the EU referendum result. So I'm looking forward to oblivion.

Those links to Telegraph articles aren’t very helpful as they’re hidden behind a paywall and I don’t intend to subscribe.
”left wing Stasi”, what a laughable tautology. Like saying “right wing Gestapo”.

If Boris does get to be Prime Minister does his girlfriend move into 10 Downing St with him. Does she then get to meet world leaders on the arm of Boris. If there is a domestic argument between the two it will not look too good if the Police are called to the Prime Ministers place of abode. Is he a fit and proper person to hold such a high office. Shouldn't the British Public decide. Farce.

Also how is it that his fellow Brexiteer & fellow Tory MP Liam Fox completely dismissed his idea when it came to Brexit tariffs on Sunday?
