Perhaps a sign of the times. You don’t really get any older keepers dropping down the leagues like in the 80’s & less so 90’s. Already made too much money today. No point getting dogs abuse when they can spend time on a golf course instead.

the worrying thing is there just isn't many quality keepers out there last season we had 4 we drafted in 2 from the premier and championship and no one rated them the only ones we could sign ourselves are both seemingly out of their depths and with so little to choose from and so many looking its going to be a struggle again even Gareth Southgate has the problem of being able to pick any English keeper in the world but at the moment no one stands out as being up to the level required debatable where deano comes on southgates list but it does go to show how important a quailty keeper helps a side, shelf united this season and town last season, a masterstroke from hurst or a bit of luck depending how you look at it You wouldn’t think being able to catch, kick and save would be that difficult would you?! Where’s Ron Green when you need him? Ron green was a rock, used to look up to him

Coventry 1st choice keeper Lee Burge has been released today. Only 26 and Ricketts may well know him from his time there. I could see this happening tbh.

Don’t know enough about him but just 2 comments about him say it all... Burge. Never been so pleased to see a name on the "out the door" list. Burge should be proud of himself. He won a trophy and promotion which will look good on his Application form to McDonalds.

Ron Green.........had a disastrous fust spell for Town, so it was a relief when he left. I seem to remember it was Ian McNeill who brought him back on loan. Most of us were incredulous and went to watch matches with a sandwich board with, "the end is nigh", written on it.
In his second spell, Ron was different class, making many superb saves, but as he was on loan from Walsall, they recalled him. Walsall were still playing at Fellows Park at the time, and we were away in The Skoda/Leyland Daft/Lick a Paint Trophy before they spoilt it with under 23s. Ron, now back in favour at the Saddlers, came over to our end to start the match and received a tremendous reception and milked it to the full, (and why not).
We Juan Juan Nil by the way.

Exeter also seem to be resigned to losing their keeper due to being out of contract, Christy Pym

I’d prefer a goalkeeper and face of the club to possess a better lid than this. It’s a crying shame to see such a solid hairline frittered away so carelessly.

www.crewealex.net/teams/first-team/goalkeeper/ben-garratt/"Arguably the most talented goalkeeper the Club has ever had in its academy, the 24-year-old was a regular in the England youth squads and was in the U17 squad for the 2011 World Cup in Mexico." considering the talented players the Crewe academy has produced, you need to pay attention to comments like this. Wait there a second! Hold the back page feller! You don’t mean to say this guy is arguably more talented than Ben Amos AND that moron Tomlinson who up wrestling?!

Been with them a number of years and has not progressed in the manner expected infact some fans are suggesting he is going backwards. Not even their first choice keeper by the sound of it. It’s a no from me.

Looking at Craig Mac's Instagram and the amount of Pompey fans saying "best keeper we've had in years" shows us how lucky we were last season!

Full marks to Kenny Jacket for seeing he had the potential to be a No 1.

We can cross Rob Lainton off our list, he's signed a 2yr deal at Wrexham.
