Let’s be honest how many of those players would you actually be gutted about if they left tomorrow? Was waiting for this one. Norburn undoubtedly works hard, he’s ok. Laurent playing out of position again, gets stick on here every week and not many like him. Docherty who never comes in for any criticism was truly poor today. He hid, didn’t track his man and just looked completely off it. However that same midfield looked very good for the first 30 minutes and looked in control. The midfield is certainly not the problem in this team.

Well that was truly dire We really could end up in a relegation scr@p here Are you joking? 3 points off the drop zone is kinda a relegation scr@p as it has looked the entire season pretty much. Slight over-reaction. The side in 4th tonking the side in 18th who have the attacking threat of a wooden spoon. But to say ‘we could end up in a relegation scr@p’. That’s like Cardiff saying the same thing!!! I’m sure they’ll bring in some guy on loan who has scored 3 goals in 56 games for Darlington. Alright calm down! I mean the run in, the final 10 games, you can’t save yourself or relegate yourself with 20 games to go like now ffs League table is no excuse for a showing like that. We’ve played decent away at Portsmouth and Sunderland, beaten Barnsley at home

How long will we make excuses for passengers like Norburn and Laurent, who can’t pass, can’t shoot, no positional sense in this bloody diamond. Docherty has been crap for weeks too

Today has ended the myth we are a good side that Askey failed to get the best out of. A poor team that will be in a relegation battle Exactly. This "we have an excellent squad" stuff needs to GTF. We have precisely 2 excellent players, both of whom are central midfielders. On days like today when they don't show up we look like relegation fodder. We have 1 (formerly 2) average keepers. Our centre-backs are creaking, and none of the back-up seems to be trusted. We have 2-3 ok young full-backs, but none of them are particularly consistent and one of them seems likely to be imminently binned off. Our back up central midfielders aren't as good as they seem to think they are, and are currently not "back-up" at all but first team because... ...we have one winger worthy of the name who is currently crocked, which has now been causing us to play an eccentric formation for about 3 months. Our strikers could charitably be described as "unproven at this level". Basically, it's a big 2-3 weeks for Ricketts. He needs to sign 3 or 4 decent players, and/or get a lot more out of some of our inconsistent young players. A change of formation might be a good start.

Whilst not disagreeing with some of what you say, Coyne and Ramsey got five wins out of six from much the same group of players when they were in charge.

It’s still a battle. All of those people saying previously ‘it’s just the start of the season it doesn’t matter’ to 5 losses or whatever, how would an extra 6-7 points look now? Pretty good! Don’t see Town making too many intelligent signings otherwise it would have been done by now. A panic loan.

Nsiala was signed during the first days of January. At that time we were desperate for a decent centre back. This window we signed yet another midfielder and whist a popular (and possibly sentimental) signing, we need reinforcements elsewhere on the pitch. We are now in mid January and all I've heard is speculation about a keeper that we rejected at the start of the season. I don't think Ricketts has any specific targets in sight otherwise they would have been signed by now. That's a big concern as I was led to believe that he had a good book of contacts. I don't think he has and I fear that we will be scrapping for points come April time.

But surely the club identified who the wanted to off load so why wouldn’t they identify who they wanted to recruit?
With Blackpool(a) Bradford(a) Luton (h) Bristol(a) Burton (h) and Peterborough (a) between now and the end of Feb I’m more than a little worried things are going to turn toxic not towards SR but the decision makers that have made some very poor choices and it seems continue to do so!
Difficult times and I think a win against Stoke whilst giving everyone a boost will only disguise the problems - remember Everton 😩
Ive depressed myself

The lack of energy, urgency and end product was absolutely unreal in the 2nd Half, Charlton appeared to coast through the 1st Half and then obviously stepped on the gas and were able to almost slice through the Town Midfield/ Defence at will in the 2nf Half Arnold saved the Town from utter oblivion and a couple of fairly simple chance (for Charlton) missed as well on top.
