I believe there chairmen said on his twitter account last night that Anthony Grant was talking to a top 6 league 1 club to agree personal terms but no fee had yet been agreed.... You can blame me for that, being cheeky asking for an update!

Exeter supporting mate, reckons that they have just got 750k from PNE for a 20 year old defender, who has only played the final part of the season for them. Obviously they are paying for his potential but nevertheless it shows how inflated the market is.

If it is us in for Grant then it can only mean one thing. That Ogogo has signalled his intention to leave. I do not see room for both of these two in the squad when fit. Personally I don’t really like the idea of Grant anyway as a replacement as he spends most of his time suspended.

He is no saint! Grant loves a yellow but 2 reds in 4 seasons (both for 2nd yellows) suggests he doesn't miss that many games to suspension. Compare that to 4 straight reds (usually 3 match bans) for Ogogo over the same period. Grant did get a 5 game ban for verbally abusing a ref in that time, hopefully a one off. In conclusion, we would be swapping one bruiser for another but I don't think Grant will miss more games than Ogogo.

Grant could equally be seen as a replacement for Godfrey rather than Ogogo, so whilst it still looks likely that Ogogo will leave this isn’t necessarily a precursor for it to happen in my view.
Quite like the idea of getting an ever present from one of our rivals. Would make a bit of change that, and he looks like the kind of experienced, combative type player that we’ll need alongside our young, pacy (and possibly slightly naive) whippersnappers up top.
Hope the rumours and true and a deal can be reached.

If not Grant from Peterborough then goal scoring Posh midfielder Danny Lloyd could well be a possibility, surely well known to Askey from his non league career and atttracting interest from a fellow L1 club allegedly

I seem to recall he was transfer listed before Christmas in this last season then had some good games notably in the cup and he was off the transfer list I seem to recall Danny Lloyd and Jermaine Anderson were enquire about by Paul Hurst

According to rumours on messageboards and twitter Mitch Hancox Macclesfield left back off to MK Dons would have thought he would have been a good replacement for Junior and that JA would have recognised that. Or is it a case of JA thinks Beckles is the man for that position??? Either way you would have thought cover would be needed. When JA intimated he might sign a player from Macc I was hoping for Hancox rather than Kennedy but I guess Arthur should know best Time will tell!

Manager said 'if it isn't broke then don't fix it' My take from that is he will keep the same back 4 as last season Bolton - toto - sads - beckles Makes sense to me! Tho we defo need cover, currently only have Hendrie, sheiles (sp?) and Kennedy in defence Could do with cover at left back and I'll be happy with that defence.... Served us well last season!

In my humble opinion I would like a decent left back with pace and I am afraid Zak Jules does not cut the msutard but maybe just maybe Askey can get something more out of him. Who knows?? But I fear he will be out pn loan and then let go

Zak Jules is still on the books too Strange one this. He was injured whilst on loan to Chesterfield, then couldn't get into a very poor Port Vale side. Only played 8 games all last season. Seems to have made a number of errors whilst on loan to Motherwell before coming to us. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zak_Jules

I think JA needs to pull his finger out!! We are beginning to miss out on our targets now!! Fred has joined United instead- for £47m! Come on JA/BC/RW, time to get a move on!

if no players leave ;personally i think we need two more forwards , a defensive midfielder , left and right backs and two keepers. so only seven players and we will be sorted .

We already have two right backs, Bolton and Hendrie, so we're ok in that area.

We need two keepers, a left back, a centre half, maybe a winger, possibly another CDM/CM depending on Ogogo and at least another of striker in my opinion if LJL doesn't sign (Although he'd be mad not to)
Toto to Sunderland is the constant rumour, hence the need for another centre half.

We also have the young pro Ryan Sears who plays right back, hope some of the young lads can step up.

Sunderland have been linked with Peterboroughs captain, a central defender. Seems no truth in the Toto rumour.

Really think think Askey needs to get off his arse and sort the squad out. A lot of other clubs around us have their business already. We need 4-5 players and the sooner he sorts this the better!! What the hell is he waiting for?

The out of contract Macclesfield left back Mitch Hancox has joined MK Franchise so he won’t be JB’s replacement, can’t see who else he may sign with a Macclesfield link so it will be interesting to see who Askey has in mind.
